*WARNING: For anyone who has not seen this film and may be of a younger age, be warned that its rating is there for a reason, very adult content*

For those of you who are constantly on the hunt for the one anime that can lead your mind astray only to ecstatically slap it back into reality once more, this is the film for you. Satoshi Kon's psych-thriller masterpiece delivers to us what may be assumed as an ordinary plot story, only for the truth to come out in its gritty, grotesque form in a mental death match within the inner conscience of our protagonist. The plot even divulges further into deeper topics and conflict of emotions & thought, however 'tis something that should be experienced.

The art is ofc only a product of its time from the late 90s era of rough sketches but still does its job, and the sound is decent, not much that is noteworthy however. As for our characters, the MC is well fit for the role the anime presents to her, and supporting characters are only a few notables but in their own way helps fulfill the story. As a forewarning however be prepared to be confused the first time as the film slowly dissolves into madness only to regroup in the end. But I digress, I truly recommend this anime for those wishing to see a great psych film, and I will add that this 80 min film had one of the greatest plot twists I've seen.

I'm still not 100% sure what the fuck happened at the end but it was pretty fucking great.

From what I was able to gather after my head was thrown into pieces...
Spoiler (Click to View)The MC's producer/management lady had a case of MPD (multi-personality disorder) and she believed that she was the MC, most likely out of jealously for once being an idol herself, and used the stalker to do her bidding by claiming she was the real MC. The MC, after avoiding death by her, puts the lady in a mental institution to help her since she claims "I wouldn't have gotten this far without her." And so they move on I guess, something like that. Still great film.

This movie made me realize that mad house has so many awesomely good anime , despite the lack of sequels they are a good studio.

Seems like an interesting watch. I'm interested in how they execute the psychological side of things in this movie.
