As a fair warning, this film is intentionally hard to follow. A great work of the late Satoshi Kon, Paprika's visual eye candy blur the lines between reality and dreams. Dreams are by their very nature the core of our beliefs, identities, and what we idealize. Kon & Madhouse expands upon this with visual prowess, displaying that even the most sturdy character may be more fragile than you would have noticed. The strongest and potentially weakest component of the film is the art itself. It helps drive the plot forward, however it leaves the conscience viewer startled and frustrated at the inability to follow the progression of the film. However dreams, being random and still enigmatic in their understanding, are true to this within the film and therefore provide said reasoning.
The score for the film was generally decent and pleasing. Overall this is quite a nice find and a good watch. I do recommend this to everyone seeking to find a nice trippy but pleasant anime to watch ;)
