If so you may be able to fix this yourself. (Jul 17, 2017 02:40 PM)ka$h Wrote: Are you able to create a bootable windows 10 USB? If so you may be able to fix this yourself. This to get into repair mode. Also, with this method you can do a system restore. (Jul 17, 2017 03:51 PM)Bluffer Wrote: Already took it to the computer guy, apparently one of my HDDs is shot. This is bad news. Well tbh he probably just said that, as the issue is related to the HDD, and now he can charge you big money, good luck hopefully it's ok. I just want my computer to work lol. Looks like I might be losing everything on the harddrive that is dead which is going to be horrible as I have a lot of cool stuff on there. Also who knows how much this guy will charge just to put the new harddrive in and load windows 10 on it. Thinking of bringing it to the guy I got it off of originally but he's out of town until the 24th, I'll be moving the next day which means rough circumstances lol. Nowadays? I'd save my money and just buy a new HDD for now along w/ a $15 Windows 10 Pro key from GamesDeal. Isn't difficult at all to change out an HDD, just a matter of plugging in a couple cables and remounting it. Just need to boot Windows 10 from a USB on the new device and you'd be good.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this, but if he bought an external reader for the corrupt HDD, couldn't he try and plug it into his computer to see if it'd read it and possibly retrieve files? I'm clueless with hardware, I'd rather pay to make sure its done the proper way. Plus the guy already has my pc, has already spent a few hours attempting to transfer files apparently, fuck my life. Apparently guy who sold me the pc had a 5 yr old drive in it so all I had to do was buy a new drive and pay the guy for his time which included recovering some of my data and reinstalling Windows.
