I would rather choose using average user rating than brand. If you want the best combination of enclosure and drive, buy them separately. SSDs are usually better for such applications not just due to high speeds but due to not having moving parts.

This is a really hard question to answer as there are quite a few different variables, to start with what price range are you looking at and what size do you need, then you need to consider what it will be used for. Running an OS? or just as a backup storage. There are plenty of guides available online but you need to figure out what you want it for before going to purchase anything.

Depends on the use for this external hard drive. If you were repairing laptops/desktops for example, then I could see how investing in a faster performing SSD can help if your repairing customers computers. However if you just need a hard drive you can backup to, occasionally then really any hard drive like a Seagate Backup or Western Digital My Passport will do just fine.

The brand of the eHDD is your only concern? As everyone else has expressed, kinda' need to explain a usage to get a good suggestion.

I've been using this one for general purposes for years. No complaints.

Then don't buy a magnetic hard drive with moving parts. Use an external SSD.
