Hey, I am getting 2 free Intel Xeon E5 2420s which I’ll be doing Dual socket with and 64GB ram too. My question is that the clock speed seems a little low @ 2.4Ghz when turbo and I was wondering if this would affect me if I were to play games that required more than 2.4Ghz

The only reason I’m thinking of Xeon is due to being able to get them free

you would be able to "game", xeons have more cores than a normal processor would have (now the latest, most processors gave 4 cores) xeons have more than 4 cores (yours has 6 cores and 12 threads) now double that and you have 12 cores and 24 threads 1 core = 2.4 ghz x 12 = 28.8 ghz, thats able to run any game. The problem is they are extremely loud.

CPUs themselves don't make noise.

@OP: It'll work, but Xeons aren't really the greatest for games.
