Problem with an anet A8 3d printer i setup yesterday.

First off not sure if this is the correct sf & if it isnt i appologize.

so yesterday i setup this printer ( first time ) and when everything was said and done & ready for servo configuration i noticed my Y Motor is running backwards lol... the Y end stop that stops the stepper when its returning to home is on the side that the y motor is located on, problem is when you go to set y to home it pushes the plate away from the y stop so it doesnt know when to stop and just grinds there is no location for a end stop on the other side of the hot bed.

alright so i of course looked this up before posting saw a couple of different solutions some of which i was a bit worried to try, # 1 wrong polarity (never messed with stepper motors before and i didnt want to go cutting wires and switching current), #2 the motor is mounted inporperly or backwards which isnt true i have it mounted the only way i can be mounted to be straight, a wiring problem where i have the y motor hoooked up inproperly which i checked all motors are hooked up properly and bot the X & Z axis motors function and go home perfectly fine.

and last but not least flashing something like marlin 1.1.x for the A8 to update the configuration.h file so you can actuall update settings. so thats the option i went with flashed the board and now it still runs backwards and the cord locations for X Y & Z blink. On top of that if i go to set the X Y OR Z Default home locations marlin throws an error saying ERR: Too far!

any ideads. im stumepd and was really hoping i could start printing.. if anyone needs pics or videos explaing whats going on id be happy to send them.

Switched polarity is not new and common in DIY kits. I am not saying that is the problem but it could be. Did you compare wire colors with what google gives you?

Yeah the cords for that motor matched up, ended up swapping the cords around earlier and rerversed the engine. working as it should now, thanks for the help.
