Okay, so I, like the rest of you logged in to see everybody going ape shit over the rep reset, but here's why it's good for HackForums,

Reputation now means something to NEW members and everybody is now on the same playing field.
There will be healthy competition and this will make for higher quality posts.

The site having an increase in higher quality posts will more than likely HackForums get an increase in average number of online users from people staying around longer than usual because not every post they see is fucking garbage and also more traffic from posts showing up higher in Google results (higher quality pieces of writing show up higher in search results I believe).


All in all I think that this is a blessing in disguise.

I know it's pretty ironic that this is a low quality post but who gives a shit this is the lounge 🤫

It was always like this. Everyone had equal opportunity to earn or lose reputation.

There will be healthy competition and this will make for higher quality posts.

There will still be farming and shitty threads. The only thing that would truly make reputation 'healthy' would be to wipe it every year.

I can see a lot of people doing REP4REP now when it's reset to quickly increase and be one of the "Top repped" members on HF which could lead to scams?

reputation has Always ment something to all members. Just because there were big differences between rep on most users, does not mean people have not worked hard for it and are not more trusted then others, and vice versa.
