iPhone Charging Wires

So I've read a few articles about how genuine iPhone chargers have a chip in them that allows iPhones to recognise whether a charging wire is genuine or not - but I've got a pack of 10 non-genuine wires from AliExpress, and weirdly about 6 of them work and 4 don't.

The wires themselves are all fine, as I've turned off my phone and connected them up - which results in them starting up, which suggests that current is able to pass through them, it's just that the iPhone won't allow it to charge it up because it's not genuine. So, my question is - why is it that a certain few are able to bypass this whilst the others aren't?

Cheers

Because they are made cheaply and unreliably
I've had a similar experience with iPhone to headphone adapters/dongles. I bought about 10 of them for really cheap in Hong Kong/China. 1 was dead right off the bat. The rest would work perfectly fine, except when I plugged them into iPhone 7s and above, they would work perfectly fine for about 3 minutes before a message would appear saying they are not genuine apple products and the music would stop playing. I believe the only solution is to either buy genuine apple products or switch to android. Really do not believe there is an easy way to bypass this "feature".

I get my 3ft cables for my iphone 8 for $1.50 CAD, the 6ft are $4 CAD and haven't had any issues.

You just need to know where to get them!

Nope not a dollar store.
It's actually a PC Hardware enthusiast shop who I purchase from a lot!
The iPhone will only accept certain currents. The wiring in cheaply made wires wont be accurate enough for the phones liking, resulting in it refusing the current input. I'm not sure about chips inside the wires from Apple since I've dismantled several for research purposes (for things like this) and haven't found anything.

Interesting, do you know if this is determined by the phones software or if theres a chip potentially checking the current of the cable? What Apple products that you are aware of that causes this to happen?
