I do not know if I am in the right place to ask this question but I would like to know if you read books and what it helps you to develop your intelligence then if you read what are your favorite books?

But normally I am not the reader type. I like to solve things and build stuff. Something that stimulates the brain.
I do read books time to time. From fantasy to self-help. I enjoy all of them. A friend of mine insisted on reading Steve Jobs since it's so inspiring.
Anyways, yes, reading books can help improve ourselves in many different ways: improving vocabulary, focusing, memory function, to other stuff. Reading is mental stimulation for the brain. It's NECESSARY (Sep 17, 2018 07:15 PM)GoneByTheWind Wrote: I don't read any books right now. But used to read a lot in the past. And I can say for sure it helps your cognitive abilities in the brain. It helps in building your focus and attention span which you can in turn leverage to learn new information all the time. Focus and attention span is crucial for your brain to take out the full potential of your cognitive intelligence IMO. But the thing is focus & attention span isn't something you can leave, it's a bit like a muscle that you have to maintain. And reading helps polish and keep you on the edge for that. I agree with this for sure. I went through a lull in reading and my mental “agility” seemed to disappear. I recently got on the Amazon audible train though and it seems to help - better than listening to music on the morning commute for the working stiff types like myself. |
