how to fix wireless printer?

First and foremost, please don't just say wireless printers are junk because I already know that.

So there's one device that usually prints (that I think is probably fine outside of not getting good reception occasionally).

Other hosts on the network don't print and can't get access to the printer.

I think its an administrator problem or that other devices don't have the printer driver.

I'm away from home right now but when I get home I'm thinking of installing the printer driver on every device.

Could it also be that this device is the only one with print permissions?

I tried a lot of other things with the printer but these appear to be the main things that could fix it.

What else could I try in order to fix my wireless printer?
Mind listing the wireless printers model?

I'm 70% sure its probably a driver thing. Just download the latest version on all your devices that want to access it.

I doubt its setup so only one device may wireless print at a time/be connected to the wireless printer.

Also, from my own personally experience installing whatever the manufacturer all-in-one software they recommend usually helps.
Visit the printers IP and you should land on an admin page with logs or diagnostics tools. What is the exact error? Are the clients reporting the printer is erroring out?

My dad told me to fix this.

What’s happening is there’s no connection between any device except my dad’s laptop and the printer. I think it might have to do with printer drivers not being installed on each device on the network.

So it's more of a question of the differences of your father's laptop compared to everyone else's device. Maybe ask your father how to setup a printer? 🤣

Devices can be configured to only allow a certain amount of users for "security." To rule out a limiting setting, simply remove your father's laptop from the network and try to print with another.

My dad is the one asking me to fix it.

But what I don’t get is the printer shows up for everyone but only my dad can print and even he is having issues.

I thought it had to do with permissions too.

He can print “most of the time but not always” as he said.

I think it might be that or an issue where most devices don’t have the driver.

He is concerned about it too.

Should I check permissions and then install the driver on everyone’s device?

That was purely a joke. But you haven't even posted the model of the printer so what accuracy can you expect? I haven't come across a printer that I haven't managed to get to work with Windows driver store. Just given your responses, I can tell you're remote and that doesn't help.

I’m not near home but will post next Friday when I get home.
