Hello, I don't see a discussion thread on this anime, so I thought I'd create one.
This anime is also known as, "Shachibato! President, It's Time for Battle!".
Quote:Shachou, Battle no Jikan Desu! is based on a strategy role-playing game of the same name, set in an alternative world where the player acts as the "president" to recruit and train adventurers. The adventurers are then dispatched into dungeons to fight monsters and recover loot.
You can find more about the anime, here: https://myanimelist.net/anime/40783/Shac...Jikan_Desu
It's highly recommended to keep your posts in spoilers, but there is no way to enforce that since this is a discussion thread and anything goes. Don't get upset if you read something and you aren't up-to-date with the current episodes.
As for me, I shall use spoiler codes for the first three episodes. After that, I will not use the spoiler code anymore.
There are so many anime this season that is based on a mobile game. This anime is one of them. The story is so generic and bland that you will find yourself very bored. The ratings for this anime are already low and I can agree with the five out of 10 ratings it has right off the start.
The characters don't have any special abilities or anything that really woes you. Each of them has their special ability or purpose in the group, such as Akari being a solider or weapons class and Makoto, her brother, being a priest to heal.
The main character looks like a female and even has a ponytail, but is a male. Hey, there's nothing wrong with that but... Eh. Additionally, we have Makoto who is male but also looks female. Even his attire is female. Akari is a clone of Hatsune Miku and Yutoria reminds me of Hotaru from Dagashi Kashi. I will admit Hotaru has some nice thigh high boots though and her outfit is a bit lewd. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
The art style is okay. Nothing to complain about. The scenery is your typical "level one area starter point" that you see in most "adventure" anime. What sets this one different is that instead of "guilds" companies are hired to take on quests. There is no information on what tasks can be completed other than killing powerful bosses such as Maju.
Note that isn't an isekai but fantasy. It reminds me of "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" but not as good.
I don't have high expectations for this anime and it will probably continue to be generic, but I'll continue watching it.
If you check the reviews on MAL, you can see how disliked the first episode was. For once, I am glad MAL idiots agreed with me.
Episode two.
After watching the second episode I enjoyed it more than the first. It seems this show can do well if it tried. There were funny bits throughout this episode and I think the Hikari vs Riva rivalry isn't anything special but it adds a comedic aspect to the anime that is needed since it can be dry at times.
It looks like the Kibou company needs to make some money. They find out that the old president had donated stuff to a museum so Yutoria and Minato go to the museum to try and get the items back. The lady there says they are allowed to but they have to pay a tax fee. It seems like the tax fee is more than anyone can imagine! So they all join an adventurer contest and whoever wins that contest will be allowed to get the best picks when it comes to jobs.
Minato can ace through the questions that are asked and I think that shows how good and knowledgeable he is when it comes to business. Considering the president isn't support to attack and is supposed to coordinate all the attacks I think that suites his role so well.
Akari and Riva make a bet to see who can clear the dungeon and I think that Kibou company is going to win. I have a good feeling that Minato is going to answer all the questions correct like he has been doing and Akari will carry them with her sword skills.
I think that Yutoria and Guide are fairly useless. I don't think I've seen them do anything worth value. I know that Makoto is a priest and can heal and he did that last episode, but when it comes to using magic, in general, he is useless. Although I said that the action was generic and boring, I do believe if they spiced it up and gave these characters I mentioned some useful abilities, it might change my mind. But just seeing Akari slice-and-dice is just boring and we got enough of that last season with Sally-chan from Bofuri.
Episode three.
Not a terrible episode. I don't think this anime is supposed to be taken seriously. I think it was created to relax on a nice Sunday.
With that being said, the comedy throughout this episode was here and there. The bits with Akari and Raiba are funny and I think they make good rivals, but if they keep it going at this rate it will become stale and boring.
This episode we see the president using his brains once again. We learn through Valmi that the president, Minato, was part of a big company before this one. Why did he end up leaving that one? That is a mystery of course and maybe the answer to my question will unfold in later episodes.
Eh, this anime can be very boring and bland. Not a lot of love for this anime. I am going to give it a six rating only because I do laugh here and there. It's not boring to the point where I'm going to sleep, but the action is just not exciting. I truly hope the "adventure" genre strikes soon because we need to get them out of this town to please us viewers in my opinion.
Boring as usual episode, nothing special. We get introduced to a "loli" (in quotes because I say that lightly) with big breasts and a tsundere attitude. Nothing cute about her and nothing interesting. She likes to go by the name "Queen Marika". I'm not sure if that's a pride thing or some sort of complex she has.
In short, the treasure hunt was for her to find friends because to find the treasure, you needed someone with knowledge of the land in order to discover the locations of the clues hidden on the map. With the help of the president and Yutoria, the three of them set off to a forest where the treasure might be located. On their way, they met Thomas, who we were introduced in the first episode I think? Anyways, Thomas is the local that helps them look for the treasure.
While looking for the treasure, I felt braindead when seeing how stupid they were. "Omg, I can't open the door it's locked, how are we going to get in" *doesn't notice the gaping hole they can crawl into*. Stuff like made me want to punch them.
I'm wondering if we'll get more out of her. I was originally going to say I hope not, but then I realized she's more useful than everyone but Akari who fights and does something rather than just sits there when they adventure and need to battle. It would be nice to have a magic user on their team. However, her magic, just like Akari's sword skills were very boring and below average.
I think what this anime is trying to do is cover up the terrible story with subtle humor. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and when it doesn't it's a big "yikes" lmao.
Not so much of an interesting episode. However, the company gets a new member, Marika, in which we met the last episode. She gives some of her money to the company so that's good because they are closer to their goal in obtaining enough money to receive the companies inheritance from the museum.
Strange dungeons are appearing and people who enter them are encountering new Maju that have never been seen before and that is super strong. Raiba gets injured while entering one of these mysterious dungeons.
The company decided to go into one so that they can obtain loot since the loot in these dungeons might be worth some good money.
We'll see more of that in the next episode.
The company was successful in raiding the weird, mysterious new dungeons that have been appearing throughout the city. After clearing it, they obtain enough rare-earth to sell and re-gain access to the companies legacy items at the museum.
While in the museum, Minato discovers a projector and after playing it we see a hologram of his father. His father explains that obtaining the currency to unlock the legacy items was a test created by him and now the real project starts.
Minato's father is in what is called the gate. What we know about the gate is very little, but it's the big flying waterfall thing that we've seen a little bit throughout this series. It's currently locked due to how dangerous it is and only reputable people may enter.
To gain access, you must be approved by 12 leaders who look over the gate. With that being said, Guide comes up with the idea that they can visit the Goddess of the city who will grant any wish to those that summon her. However, to summon her you must donate 5x the amount of money they earned to buy back the legacy items.
With that being said, the next few episodes will probably revolve around them earning more money so they can summon the Goddess.
Overall a slow and boring episode though with the subtle hints of humor they like to sprinkle in but with this episode I didn't laugh at once.
Pretty laidback and cute episode. Episode seven wasn't that bad despite how slow it was in terms of pace. It added nothing to the story and I guess it was a filler episode to pass some time.
The beginning half with Guide was great and she's my favorite character. The second half with Akari wasn't bad either and their date was very cute! It's nice seeing both of them outside of their work clothes. It adds more personality to both of them in my opinion.
I'm guessing next episode we'll resume where we left off from episode six.
This week's episode will be delayed, however, we'll get episode 11 on June 21.

Through Raiba's assistant, Valmi, we learn that Minato was once part of the top-ranked company Imperial where he had a high ranking in the company. He was then fired due to "workplace violence". This could have gone two ways. Either Minato was framed or he really is a violent person and he is hiding his true self.
Reading the possibility that he might be framed from the MAL discussion threads is not a bad idea. Seeing how far we've come with the company it can be true that he might have been framed.
I am curious to see how the anime will end next week.
Despite this anime being a mediocre, generic adventure anime, the ending surprised me. The last episode was very good. Sadly, it's not enough to raise the final rating I have for this anime.
"Shachou, Battle no Jikan Desu!" or when translated into English, "President, it's time for battle!" is as mentioned, as generic as can be for adventure anime. Just like in every adventure anime, there is a starting area. However, as you know they never leave the area unless they are going to do a quest and then they return. I don't understand why adventure anime does that. Anyways, the story, if there was one, was pretty much non-existent until the last few episodes. Well, there was a story, but it was slow and you don't really bother following it.
It's a boring anime I will say but at other times, you might find it enjoyable. This show had a bit of comedy here and there. Sometimes the jokes were funny but sometimes they weren't. It depended on how the translator translated them. Sometimes the Japanese context would be funnier than how the English captions were written.
The characters were basic and boring. Nothing special about them. Maybe Minato, one of the main characters and the "shachou" or "company president". When doing quests he was the brain of the operation. I thought that was cool seeing how he analyzed the scenarios and then found a way to solve them. However, those in his company were useless.
Yutoria is a secretary I believe and she's Minato's childhood friend. It isn't until around episode 5~ that she uses a weapon when going on dungeon quests with the company.
Akari is the fighter in the group. She is the main fighter type and although she does most of the work she is also useless. Her abilities are boring, just slice and dice pretty much. Nothing fancy to her. Also, she's Hatsune Miku clone. Just look at her hair lol.
Makoto is the healer of the group and he is useless too. I'll keep repeating that word over and over again because it's true. Even though he's a healer, I'm not sure why he can't attack. If you've ever played MMORP's and you have a healer, you can do some damage attacks. Makoto cannot.
Then, there is Guide. She is useless too blah blah. Her only ability is looking after the company while the crew is out doing quests. If she's with them, she does exactly what her name suggests and guides them. I guess she's not completely useless.
I gave this anime a final rating of five which is "average." Yes, the anime is bad and it is boring, but I will contradict my sentence here. At times it was interesting and it helped pass time on Sundays. It's crazy to think back 11 weeks ago this anime aired. And even though it wasn't that interesting, I always like to reflect on how much time has gone by. I wouldn't recommend this anime to anyone. Sorry.
