Banks to Offer Cryptocurrency Custody Services
The United States' Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) announced in a letter, dated July 22, that all federally chartered banks are now allowed to provide custody services for cryptocurrency. The OCC is responsible for regulating national banks. This move means that banks are now able to look after their clients' crypto. The acting comptroller of the currency and former chief legal officer at Coinbase, Brian Brooks, has been working to shift the agency towards a more crypto-accepting world. In a press release, Brooks stated that “banks can continue satisfying their customers’ needs for safeguarding their most valuable assets, which today for tens of millions of Americans includes cryptocurrency." Brooks had previously revealed to Cointelegraph in June that he was looking to make this move, saying that under his leadership, the OCC would "get a position together as to what [they] think about national banks as appropriate custodians for cryptocurrency.” >>Source

Ethereum Overtakes Bitcoin
Data released by Messari indicates that Ethereum has overtaken Bitcoin to become the most used blockchain, for the first time. This follows a string of decentralized finance advancements, and increased global awareness of the importance of blockchain technology, in addition to the nearing launch of Ethereum 2.0. When it comes to competing with its rival, Ethereum is well-known for quick transaction confirmation speeds and low fees, unlike Bitcoin. Ethereum 2.0 aims to take the currency to the next level, swapping from proof of work (PoW) to proof of stake (PoS). This vastly reduces the power consumption required to mine a transaction. Overtaking Bitcoin as the most used blockchain means that the value of Ethereum transactions is higher than that of Bitcoin transactions. It is also partly due to stablecoin trading, which has drastically increased in volume since 2019. Tether (USDT), one of the most popular stablecoins, has almost 60% of its supply on the Ethereum blockchain. >>Source

Visa's Crypto Approach
In the past, Visa has worked closely with companies like Coinbase and Fold. Coinbase offers crypto cards that their customers can then use to spend cryptocurrency as a fiat currency. When it comes to Fold, their card acts as a reward card, giving users small Bitcoin rewards when they spend money. Through Visa's work with these platforms, the company has been able to formulate a better approach, which they published on July 22. Their FastTrak program is used to help financial technology companies integrate with Visa's global network. The card provider "has become the preferred network for digital currency wallets" and aims to expand on this. They detailed that they "plan to support the digital currencies and blockchain networks that our clients and partners demand," hinting at a future where Visa might integrate Bitcoin or Ethereum into their network. >>Source

Is the order a rabbit? BLOOM Anime Reveals Visual
The website created for the third season of "Is the order a rabbit? BLOOM" has released a new key visual. The anime is scheduled to air during the fall 2020 season. A short video was posted on YouTube teasing little bits of what is to come. If you haven't watched the two seasons before this one, AT-X and BS11 (channels in Japan) have already started the re-airing this past April. Additionally, the two prior seasons are also available on Crunchyroll. >>Source

Tower of God Staff Make 8-Minute Short for Rick and Morty Animated Series
Back at the end of March, an animated short that was titled "Samurai & Shogun" was created. It showcased Rick and Morty with anime-style art, as well as Japanese voice acting. Of course, this blew up, and considering the developers knew what they were getting themselves into, they pulled it off well and made a good choice! Recently another animated short was created and posted on the Adult Swim YouTube channel. It features an eight-minute clip that was directed by Takashi Sano, who was the director of the anime Tower of God. Just like in the first video clip, this short is also in Japanese, with subtitles, of course. >>Source

Kenta Watanabe, Creator of VTuber Hot Springs Mascot Chizuru, Passes Away
The creator of the Ryokan Tsuruya Intaku inn mascot, Kenta Watanabe, has sadly passed away after he and his family were reported missing in the Kyushu region of Japan. They were swept away by a flood while trapped inside their car. Kenta was 28-years-old. Around 77 additional cases of people missing or found dead have also been reported in the past month. Dennou Okami Chizuru was the name of the mascot created. A popular trend around the world, VTubers, or "Virtual YouTubers" has been sparking up interest for many people. A Virtual YouTuber will use a generated avatar to represent themself, usually one with an anime art style, a program that utilizes your webcam and outputs onto whatever streaming/video platform you are using the avatar you have selected. Dennou is one of these VTubers and has a specific channel created to advertise the inn. >>Source

Iwa-Kakeru! -Sports Climbing Girls- TV Anime's Teaser Unveils More Cast & Staff, October Debut
The world is changing, and over recent years, some people's kinks and preferences have evolved into weird stuff. But this is a PG news service, so we won't go too much into that, especially if you are way too young to even understand what this first paragraph even means. Well, if you are one of those weirdos (Note from Megane: I can say that because I'm a weeb, and let's be honest, all weebs are weird,) an anime based off of unbelievably ripped (strong) girls who competitively rock climb will be coming this fall 2020 season in October. "Owa-Kakeru! -Sport Climbing Girls-" released a trailer showcasing some of the cast members and characters that will be in the anime.

The rest of this article will be Megane's personal opinion and is just for fun. Alright, I'll be honest. I'm going to be one of those weirdos who's going to watch this show. It looks interesting. One thing I will bring up is the fact that these girls look fully-grown, and most of them are in High School (you know anime tropes they are always like this) and ripped is kind of weird. But it piques my interest. I don't wanna repeat myself, but this is going to be one strange anime for sure. >>Source

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis Game Announced for 2021
Phantasy Star Online 2, originally only available in Japan made its way to western countries, and specifically in the US at the end of May. recently on the Xbox Games Showcase, an announcement was made regarding Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, a new game that will be released sometime next year. Unlike the first version of the game, which was only available on PC and Xbox One, PSO 2: New Genesis will be available for PlayStation 4 and a cloud version on the Nintendo Switch and PC. Awesome, huh? A follow-up video was posted on the official Phantasy Star Online YouTube channel showcasing the new features. The video is also available in 4K! For those unaware of the game, it is a Japanese open-field role-playing game. If you visit the website of the game, the developers state that there will be "twin universes." What does that mean? Well, players will be able to switch between PSO 2 and PSO 2: New Genesis as their worlds exist side-by-side. Well, does that mean if you buy the second game you have access to the first? That is what it sounds like, but no further information was shared on that. >>Source

The following cast members have been chosen:
  • Alexis Tipton as Kaguya Shinomiya
  • Aaron Dismuke as Miyuki Shirogane
  • Jad Saxton as Chika Fujiwara
  • Austin Tindle as Yu Ishigami
  • Amanda Lee as Hayasaka

In a reply to the user "MelodyNNG" on Twitter, Funimation also confirmed that the first season would be getting a dubbed version, however, it will not be released until later. Wait, what? How can you release the second season before the first season? There is no confirmed date for either of the seasons as to what time they will be released, so it is understandable to be confused. (Note from Megane: I was confused when writing this. 😁) >>Source
