the IRS is extremely annoying

They sent me a letter to verify my identity because I moved states not a big deal. I go to the website to verify and it won't take any of my information i get all the way to the "Auto Loan Acc#" and the acc# I give them is apparently not correct even though it's on my credit report and the acc number the lender gave me. I then get locked out of it every 24 hours since I keep trying other stuff.

I try calling and they say "High call volume we're unable to take your call" and of course they no longer do walk ins so basically near impossible to verify.

Has anyone else had to deal with this if so what did you end up doing I've seen a few posts on reddit saying they just processed their return without them doing anything because they had the same issue I'm having.

why did you need to give them your auto loan account number? are you trying to deduct payments?
Get in touch by phone somehow would be your best bet and probably the only bet. Something could be wrong with the account so you are going to need to talk to someone for sure.

Nothings wrong I just moved and they need to verify that I'm me basically I understand why I have to go through the process but it's just annoying the website doesn't work and they have too high of a call volume to answer. I'm gonna try again in a few hours right when they open to see if I get any luck

Your best bet is to continue calling unfortunately when their centers just open, and write them by mail asking for an escalation callback explaining your issue.
It's annoying and can take a few weeks, but its best to start the process now.

It's not it's i moved states and it said on the site this happens sometimes when you move. It's just an annoying process.

No I have to verify my identity so they require any of these to prove i'm me

cc (Don't have)
Auto loan (I have but doesn't show up in their records )
Home loan (Don't have)
Personal loan (Don't have)

and since none of that works even though i provided the correct information I have to call but I can't call because 99% of the time the call volume is too high and they don't accept calls. I don't really care about my return or any of that I'm just trying to get my fasfa stuff situated so it's not a pain later on.
ahh fair enough, makes sense. Goodluck with it bro. I hope you get everything sorted easily :)

The IRS won’t submit it in their records until they confirm it’s actually my tax return and not someone trying to commit fraud. And the Fasfa pulls that data from the IRS to figure out what your qualify for financial aid. But I got it resolved this morning thankful
