I never invested in crypto but this seems like a good idea to me since I remember Litecoin being $200 not too long ago.
I want to invest a couple of thousand $$ but I'm not sure if that's a smart decision because I'm by no means good at this field.
I don’t think it really matters what you invest in e.g. BTC, ETH and LTC are all reliable choices that have been around for several years. The market is unstable right now, $60 LTC might look like a good deal now but in 2 weeks it could be worth $30 each.

Yeah thats why its best to buy smaller amounts over period of time, rather than buying a huge amount in one go

Definitely gonna keep this advice in mind for later, I threw $2000 dollars into various coins earlier this week and now it’s at about $1300. Switched it all to ETH so hopefully I’ll make it back in the future at some point.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
I think just in general now is around a good time to buy, it could crash a bit more and that's what I speculate it will do so definitely tread carefully, it's just a matter of time same for when it goes back up. Do yourself a favor and find a few potential projects you'd be interested in throwing a couple dollars in, an example just being: BTC, LTC, XRP or maybe something you're more passionate about or believe in such as $SAND, $MANA, $STEP.
ooof I remember ltc being 475$ not too long ago.
imo I'd find a better project but I also agree it's a perfect time too be buying crypto right now.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
Just gonna copy and paste a thread from Reddit today
Quote:After all the shit with Luna, UST and other crap, a friendly reminder about Litecoin, which boasts 100% uptime for more than 10 years since inception. The only thing lagging is price, but if you're looking for a real, true, solid crypto, remember:
- OG, created in 2011 as a clone of bitcoin but on its own blockchain (not a fork like btc cash, btc sv, btc gold etc) but faster with negligible transaction fees.
- Hard capped supply at 84 million coins that will ever exist (21 million for bitcoin) = scarcity.
- Lightning fast transactions thanks to lightning network (shared with bitcoin, also atomic swaps) = scalability.
- Privacy (optional!) and fungibility thanks to MWEB.
- Security thanks to PoW through scrypt.
- Liquidity thanks to being on basically every exchange.
- OmniLite for creating NFTs, smart contracts, stablecoins, decentralized tokens.
- Adoption, most recently Paypal, Venmo, AMC, Regal, Newegg, interactive brokers, Grayscale eyeing a spot ETF conversion, top alt on Bitpay, Amazon, Verifone, VISA, litecoin in most ATMs that have bitcoin including El Salvador, Coinstar, several banks globally, etc.
- The Economist put litecoin on the cover next to bitcoin for their 2022 issue.
- Charlie Lee, the founder, sold his coins in 2017 to make litecoin truly decentralized. And he's still, half a decade later, working on litecoin and matches donations!
Other crypto might be fast, OR scarce, OR secure, etc. Litecoin does everything.
It's one of my fav picks at the moment. We could of course see it go lower, but I've been buying it all the way down from $100.
Litecoin is solid but for investment purposes it has had historically poor returns compared to other coins. I recommend watching this video on how to balance a $1000 portfolio. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBkYlkGzOro
Big holder who has bought every dip from $300 to $50
10 years uptime, MWEB out next week, cheap and fast
Number 1 whale keeps buying. I recommend everyone hold at least 4

Generally. What first comes to my mind mind is use case scenarios.
and...
LTC just hasn't gained that yet, if it will..
BTC and XMR on the other hand gained those use cases with majority and actual businesses use btc. While a lot of the markets transition to xmr..

Many many of the top 100 coins will go to 0 within the next 5 years, so choose your coins wisely.
LTC used to be top 5 coin back in the dizzay :DD
