What is the difference between blockchain and distributed ledger technology?

the same but distributed ledger technology can mean not immutable. even when the transaction is done, it can still be modified.

Blockchain is the how. Distributed is the where.

Seems there is some distributed ledger technology out there that doesn't use blocks. I had to learn about this for a small freelance writing job and I was curious what Hack Forums would say.
