Hey, so I’m moving to a new city for work because I just graduated, but I’m getting cold feet because I’m starting to miss the few good friends I have here and the memories… lived here for 6 years. I would consider myself an introvert but I still have 3 really good friends here. Feel like my anxiety is through the roof. Tips would help.
Play online games with your friends to keep in touch.
Go out to popular areas to meet new people, just tell them you just moved to the area and you're looking for people to hang out with and things to do. Anyone at a downtown bar on a saturday night is most likely more than happy to be your friend or at least show you the ropes of the area.
its time to leave the nest man, becoming the man is a great thing. Where you can make sh*t happen. Become whoever you want to be.
You say you're "introvert" and have "anxiety" that can be a thing of the past man, become who you are. Be free

I get that, moving away is a big thing. Take advantage of what you can, your university may have an alumni chapter in that city that puts on meetups and mixers. Take up a social hobby maybe - like pickleball or jogging etc- a lot of cities have groups that do these events regularly, it's a good way to meet people. Also, if you wanted a dog or have thought about a pet look into adopting a dog and you will definitely meet people at dog parks or just going for a walk in the park. You have a lot of opportunities but it's all about making that first uncomfortable step.
Space echoes like an immense tomb, yet the stars still burn. Why does the sun take so long to die?
All part of life my friend. We have social media now so there isn’t any reason to not stay in touch.
Best of luck!
I see this as a great opportunity for a new chapter in your life. Feeling anxious is normal. Just embrace the change and make new relationships.

Well, first off, congratulations on the job position. Moving is a part of life my friend and although it may cause an uneasy feeling it is not necessarily a bad change. I am not sure where you are from (the States, or outside of) but I would recommend possibly scoping out some nearby coffee shops and utilizing that space to slowly adjust to being around other folks in your area while maybe browsing the web, or reading, etc. This could help you become more comfortable with the area. I suffer from anxiety daily also so I completely understand where you are coming from and how much easier said than done it is.
All I can say is try not to let your anxiety dictate your path! The older I get the easier it is to slowly feel some sort of the change in the right direction and I hope that it comes for you also! Best of luck and I hope it works out for you!
I understand the feeling. The positives for you is you're secure in your move with a degree and a job already. I soon will have to do the same thing and move across the country. Only difference is I'll have to find work after the fact. I'm extremely scared as well. Good luck to you and let us know how you do.
I am happy for you being able to relocate.
Some advice I can offer:
Don't be a stranger, go out and have fun even if you're an introvert.
I know often times our mind tells us that it's weird to go out and do things alone, but it's not and in reality that is how you network.
Don't be afraid to branch out.
Connect within social groups based on your hobbies, I am sure you can find something!
I wish you the best of luck, and success!
Don't leave your friends that you have currently high and dry, video call them, audio call, or text them often. Maybe make special trips to visit, you'll never understand how much it will mean to them.
Leave them and do you I made that mistake once.
socialize more and becareful
MeetUp app and find a group you would enjoy.
Start volunteering with some non profit organizations. Either youth development or something. It’ll get you connected to others that are volunteering and get you more acclimated to the city.
