Seems like a much better reason to celebrate then most of the holidays that we currently do celebrate. BTC Halvenings are going to be the new Superbowl party. I'm down for sure.

This is the 4th halving out of 33 that will ever exist. Every occurrence has drawn more and more attention, but I'm unsure if that will always be the case. Once we hit the 7th halving event, 99.6% of the total supply will be in circulation. 99.8% at the 8th, 99.9% at the 9th. Then it will take us another 8 halving events (~30 years) to add just another 0.099% to the circulating supply (bringing us to 99.999% of the total supply in circulation). At this point I'm curious if these events remain impactful.

Looking even further ahead, once we hit halving #20 we'll be at block rewards of just 0.00004768 BTC per mined block. The total amount of BTC entering the circulating supply between halving 20 and halving 21 is just 10.01 BTC. 10 new BTC entering the supply over a 3-4 year period is pretty insane to think about.

I'm a bit more optimistic. I speculate that each halvening will force the market to increase value of BTC for the miners to continue being paid for their efforts. It's not an immediate effect which is why it can take 12-18 months after the event for market price to peak.
