I used nano when I first started. (technically I used vi, but I couldn't get out of it and rebooted the computer... 🤣) So, for several years I used nano until I learned how to properly use vi. Buffers, regular expressions, functions, key mapping, plugins. There isn’t even a question of nano being better if you spend 100% of your time in a Linux environment. Nano doesn’t even come close to the functionality of VIM, but if you don’t need that functionality and you’re not familiar with vim, than obviously you’re just going to use nano. nano is basically for quick edits. If you’re doing all of your work in nano, you’re honestly a sadist. That being said, vim master race.
