[Confound]

Hi

Simple but fun question - What is your favorite word in the English dictionary and why?

I'll start, my username - Confound.

Confound means to cause surprise in someone, especially by going against expectations.

To me, it means above all expectations, or going above and beyond. Go against the grain, and be great. Maybe it's a stretch, but that's how I like to think of it :)

To me, it embodies a way to live by, go above and beyond, go beyond what is expected of you, bring everything you got to the situation, and leave people surprised by your amazingness.

I don't know why but I like the word "emphasize", means "give special importance or value to (something) in speaking or writing"

Not because of the meaning of the word, but more because of the pronunciation
