Awhile back I made a post explaining my living situation and how me and my girlfriend had to live out of a car. Recently, we worked with community action to be placed on a waiting list for a homeless shelter. I am excited to say that we have found a homeless shelter today and have been placed for the next 30 days. I am going to thread any news or drastic updates on our homeless journey! I appreciate everyone’s support, I really do appreciate and love all of you guys here on HF.
Congrats on landing a secure place for a month. Take this time and get things in order so by the end of that 30 days you're prepared to have you're own place and keep the good times rollin...
Happy for you guys! Step-by-step.
Are you still doing doordash? I think you mentioned that in your last post.
What's the action plan for these next 30 days?
Congrats man, seriously, just keep pushing forward and it’ll work.
Remember , living every day by, “It won’t be okay.” Will make it a guarantee. But if you at least wake up and tell yourself, lie if you have to, that, “things are going to be okay.” Then you’re giving yourself the chance that it will, back.
Stay strong brother.
Don't be homeless in LA though

We are still DoorDashing; however, that really isn't a fruitful source of income. I mean, it can only afford us food and barely gas. Eating out all of the time isn't the greatest either and I am certain that it is just funneling our money down the drain. With this shelter we have been offered the opportunity to buy actual groceries and save that money that would have otherwise been blown on food. This place is pretty set in regards for kitchen appliances, and immediate appliances; showers, functioning bathroom, and lounge rooms. The plan for the next 30 days is to buckle down and search for permanent housing. After this 30 days we are simply thrown out, so finding a permanent residence is extremely important.
Hope all goes well for you guys. Being in a hard spot like that can be rough, but you’ll get through it just keep your head up and have a plan and try and find a stable source of income and you’ll be good. Good luck to you and your girlfriend.
Really hoping the best for you guys went through a similar stint about 8 years ago, while the world is much different now I still remember this feeling it will get better just keep your head up. I kept telling myself this and we made it this far :3.
I am currently at 88% for quick loves please help a brother out QL4QL
Keep your head up kid. Everything will work out.

I don't know whereabouts in the world you are, but a lot of countries have foodbanks and such, where you might be able to get some groceries for free - and maybe some healthier stuff too (supermarkets and the like throw out a lot of produce that is perfectly edible). It's worth checking what there is in your local area, there's no shame in it, lots of people do it, times are hard.
Good luck to you and Mrs Purgatory.

Congratulations on getting into a shelter! What state are you guys in?

There are many certificate programs you can complete to land a solid job. If you put the time in like 1-2 hours a day you can get the certificate done in 1-2 months.
If you and your partner are determined your situation can make a complete 180 turn.
A combined income of 80k-110k in less then 4months.
Thats the beauty of this country and the internet.
