Who in the right mind has $91 million but falls victim to this?

This is not the first time it happened.

The other ones are the genesis hack (243m) (they were caught), 3520 BTC (330m), not to mention over $1b in losses from Coinbase SE scams. Clearly this is a big problem for folks who really don’t have the intelligence to know some OPSEC

you are very correct. not everyone has the intelligence as most of us do here. so t think it cant happen is as same as thinking btc price cant go down in the next 10 minutes
Crazy to see someone lose that much money in one go.
Crypto scams using social engineering can be ruthless.
RIP, dude probably lost 99% of his entire networth in one shot.

I should be numb at the amount of people with such wealth but so careless with their money, but somehow it still amazes me..
Waiting bitcoin for 1 million dollar
Damn. That's a truly significant amount to lose, especially to a scam. With scams and scammers being so prevalent nowadays, it bewilders me how many people are still falling victim to these type of things. I literally question any and everything when it comes to my money, even things that I probably shouldn't be questioning.
What support could he have possibly needed? Wallet is set up. Using hardware. Don’t need anyone for anything….. stupid people. I’d gladly hold on to your coin if you don’t want to, or know how to…. :)

Holy shit. I've heard of this guy. I've seen people make meme coins about him back in the day. I didn't know he was $91m in Bitcoin rich.

How can someone that huge in the crypto space fall for such a scam

Edit. I read further. It wasn't him that was the victim.
Don't fall for a scam, use a middleman!

You would hope someone who has BTC knows enough to not fall for this

That’s a tough one. $91 million…🙄 it’s a good reminder that no matter how much you have, you can still get got.

Social engineering is just brutal. Makes me want to triple-check everything.
