Western Digital Leaves Consumer Market

With Western Digital leaving the consumer market to focus on the Enterprise market, is anyone loading up on drives? It seems prices on Sandisks are already going up. I'm debating buying some now or waiting to see if new competitors enter the scene.

I could use some more 8TBs for the RAID setup.

Scared me with the headline for a second. Leaving the SSD market for consumers makes sense because the margins are so much bigger on the bulk enterprise sales given the limited supply available. Glad to see they're still going to be making HDDs for NAS and other usage.

Same here. WD doesn't have a significant share if the SSD market, so no big loss.
Sandisk isn't the sole storage provider, FYI. Tend to agree with the article outline however should be treated like a PR campaign rather than a FOMO pricewar prequel. For that segment of the market, differentiating the shift from B2C <-> B2B, there isn't a line in the sand to be drawn except for, what comes down to, simple marketing.
Woah. Didn't think I would see that. I have a lot of there products

That's wild I thought the SSD market was pretty profitable for them to be in.
