I don't get why people trust other people in hackforums because of reputations and the rank tags like ubers and leets.
A uber member is still same as a regular member.
- You have never met the person in real life.
- You don't know where they live.
- You don't know what they are capable of doing.
I seen a lot of apple call-in threads and people are getting scammed by ubers.
Are you seriously gonna give someone like $200 or more to a person that you have never ever met or seen? You don't know his name, you don't know his phone number or address, You don't know the person, you just don't know him...
A uber upgrade costs $30 only! Posts counts and reputations can be earned so easily. People gives out reputation for no reason at all..
If a uber with 1k+ posts and 500+rep makes thread like Apple-call-in, I bet lots of people would wanna buy the service from him/her. That uber could get like at least 5 people buying his service without any actual proofs because of him/her being a uber and with the post counts and reps. 5 X $200 = $1,000. That uber can just leave and take that money to himself and get out of hackforums.
Here are the benefits of uber:
Where does it say in there that ubers are to be trusted with $200? Where? Do you see it? NO!
Proofs and Vouches:
Are you telling me that you're now gonna buy something online to a person you have never met and doesn't even have a proof? Always look at the proofs! Don't just assume that the uber is trust worthy by his post counts and reputations.
Many people vouches other people's thread just because they have dealt with that person before..Guess what? People change!
Look for the vouches from people who have actually bought that specific service and vouched. Don't just look at vouch that says, "vouch, legit person. sold me blah blah before.."
Common Sense:
Why would someone want to sell those service? Clearly, that uber could just ship the iPhones or iPads to their home and sell it on ebay for like $600 to $800. Doesn't it seem weird? That uber is basically selling a new iPhone 4 to you for only $200? They could make more profits selling in ebay rather than selling it here.
Obviously when you sell/buy something from ebay, you have sellers/buyers legal protection. You can also chargeback! But in this case, the ubers want these demands:
1) Must send all money at once
2) Must send as paypal gift
3) No escrow service
4) No listening to the call-ins

ub3r means nothing to me.. just means you got 30$ and some spare time to get rep doesnt make u trustworthy over normal members.
ill be waiting to get neg rep for this but i coultn care about some rep :D

I personally have done business on this site with various members worth 1000s of dollars per transaction and had no issues, you just need to know how to choose them. I also don't go first ever and had no issues.

1) NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER SEND AS PAYPAL GIFT!!
2) if the purchase is more then 25$ get to know the buyer, try to get some backround knowlage about him. use yout gut feeling to deciede if you personally trust him/her.
3) use a TRUSTED middle man if you need.
4) look on other forums to see if he has any previous scam reports.
5) dont go first unless the person has decent ammount of vouches
6)DONT GO BY REPUTATION, people do Rep for Rep with friends all the time,
7) look at the rep and see if any of them say things like "good transaction" and stuff along those lines
8)make sure the seller has 100% proof of the item, not stolen or carded.
9) if your a buyer and your afraid of them doing a chargeback, hold payment up to 24-48hrs
10) lastly, Ub3r,L33t and normal members are all equal. just Ub3r and L33t means they have the money to upgrade, and omni accepted them to be ub3r.
i use these 10 steps in all transactions, doesnt matter on the item or price.
Hope this helped :)

Always use caution and look for the little signs, ask tons of questions etc.
