Abortion now legal in Ireland
A bill signed into law by President Michael D. Higgins is now in full swing and will provide women with access to abortion for the first time, legally. The bill’s terms were wrapped up in the Seanad earlier in December after weeks of argumentative discussion “in both the Dáil and Seanad.” If you’re not familiar with Irish politics, the Dáil Éireann is one of the Houses of the Oireachtas, and the Seanad Éireann is the higher level of the House of Oireachtas that possesses 60 members known as Senators. The bill introduces a referendum that suggests removing the Eighth Amendment from Ireland’s Constitution, “which guaranteed the unborn and mother an equal right to life. Some 67 per cent of the electorate voted to repeal the amendment.”

As the Medical Council deleted final provisions from its code, the President then signed it. By removing provision from the bill’s code, this will mean that there are no ethical guidelines that must be followed when performing abortions conducted by doctors. Amending was done, primarily by agreeing to delete four of the five paragraphs that dealt with abortion from its guide because it conflicted with the Health Act, which refers to the Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy. “Two of the four deleted paragraphs state that a doctor has an ethical duty to make every reasonable effort to protect the life and health of pregnant women and their unborn babies; and that in exceptional circumstances, it may be necessary to terminate the pregnancy to protect the life of the mother while making every effort to preserve the life of the baby.” >>Source

Iranian Parliament reject motion to ban marriage of girls under thirteen
Iranian Majles has rejected a motion to ban child marriage this past week. “A member of women's faction in the Islamic Republic's parliament, Tayyebeh Seyavoshi says, ‘The Legal and Judicial Commission of Majles has rejected a parliamentary motion that proposed a ban on allowing under thirteen-year-old girls to marry.’” Following the rejection, Seyavoshi said that they are waiting for the Commission’s official report, then they will decide on how to proceed. Yahya Kamalpour, a member of the Legal and Judicial Commission, stated that the motion was rejected after “Grand Ayatollahs and sources of emulation” violently opposed it. While defending the motion, Seyavoshi said that more than 300 girls under age nine, “and between 30,000 to 40,000 girls under 13-14 years old marry in Iran.”

On 4 December 2018, a prominent woman and member of the Islamic Republic’s Cultural and Social Council for Women defended child marriage, claiming it protects the young children from a lifetime of forced prostitution and illegal abortions. Fereshteh Rouhafza, the referenced woman, told state-run Iran Labor News Agency, that “in light of the rapidly growing number of increasingly young girls undergoing illegal abortions and joining the sex trade, ‘opposition to child marriage is wrong.’” Rouhafza, the woman in charge of planning and policy for the council, has not provided any evidence or sources for the numbers she has been provided, further stating the statistics are available, but it would be irresponsible to release them to the public. >>Source

TOPIC: Do you think the value of groups will ever rise again? Why or why not?

"As of now, there are 3 groups being sold. Their price has been going down since the owners want them off their hands. Prices are about to go up when none or one group remains for sale. I don't know though where the price could go. A 5k price-tag would be reasonable if only one group gets available for sale."

"Truthfully, no. The overall quality of groups is no great at the moment, and people aren't wanting to spend thousands on leading a group. Most just want to spend a couple hundred on some awards to give their e-peen a little tug."
