Just to review the possibility of it working.
This post made me think more clearly about this problem. Okay, I have bought many, many ebooks and I can tell you that 9/10 time, the ebook is not up to standards as what the official reviewer has made in his review. This leads to sort of "false" reviews.
So how about dissolving the entire Reviewers group, and start a new group named something such as "Testers". These are people that actually test the ebook and gives their opinion on the methods included within.
Why? Because with the current system, the official Reviewers only describe the possibilities of the ebook actually working. They don't test it themselves so how can they know if the ebook works or not? If there was a "Testers" group, the review of ebooks would be much more accurate.
I understand testing could take some time, and that's why I recommend sending your ebook to testers before you put your sales thread up. This would also save a lot of non-working/stolen/saturated ebooks from being sold here.
We don't need to replace it.
How about dissolve it entirely?
Yeah seriously.
Them folks have to just simply get out of here.
There's always been false reviews and people who've applied for Reviewers simply social engineered their way in to simply become bad reviewers.
Yea useless group most of them write good reviews all the time anyways.
They're probably scared of getting -rep if they give bad reviews.
I kind of agree with you.
Yes stuff like grammar is needed for something to be a good book but a book with good grammar and a method which does not work is useless.
I don't like that it requires you to be ub3r to join either.

THIS is why I wanted to become a Reviewer. but I was denied. Oh well. But anyways, you're right. I have never once seen a bad review. I have bought many, upon many bad ebooks but I've never seen an actual bad review.

Or expand it to the whole marketplace.
Yea. It'd be great to have the reviewers actually review items sold like crypters, hosting services.
Okay, so.. get rid of Reviewers for ebooks, and add testers for everything. I kinda like it.
I don't think removing the reviewers group is a good idea, although I do understand your concerns and I agree with a lot of them. Think about it, having these "official" reviews are better than nothing. Also, I don't think this "testers" thing is a good idea. It seems like way too much work for the group and with the amount of eBook Sales Threads coming in it seems virtually impossible. Nice idea though.
I think what we should be doing rather than skipping straight to the idea of disbanding the Reviewers entirely is brainstorming about different ways we can improve the accuracy and quality of the reviews being distributed. Like I said, these "official" reviews may not always be the most accurate, but IMO it's better to have them than not to have them at all.

I don't think the Testers is too bad of an idea. You said it would be too much work, but I disagree. That's why the Testers would have to be users who are dedicated to HF and willing to spend a good chunk of their time actually doing their job (testing products sold on HF). These people would volunteer themselves, so even if it is a lot of work, I don't think it's a problem as these people chose to do the job.
I just think there's no way to make the official reviews more accurate, other than actually testing the ebook yourself. Which is where this new group would come into play. I see what you're getting at though. Maybe you're right, maybe it would be too much work. Writing a review takes a short time to complete, but reviewing it would take a few days. And you would need really dedicated users if they even wanted to try testing more than 1 ebook at once. They may have their hands full. So you're right.

You are implying that this isn't already the case with the Reviewers group?

It shouldn't be too much of a loss for the seller, right? Because if it gets a good review by the tester, then it would up their sales. But I agree a bit, and that's why I was leaning more towards just ebook testers.

I believe so. The Reviewers was here long before the ability to create your own group for $2000.

Maybe you missed something Biohazard posted.
I remember that HF Testers were trying to be created and Omni banned the OP and disbanded it.
So Testers will never happen.

Especially when the ebook is something tempting such as "Make $100/day [AUTOPILOT][NEW]"... if that has an exceptionally good review, I'm going to be more tempted to buy it than if it had a bad review.
I think the concept of the tester's idea is good but could remain being called the reviewers if put into place.
If they were to test most of the stuff sold on the market place like crypters, booters and hosting services then it'd clear up a lot of the scams and crappy products/services sold.
I don't like that the current Reviewers group only accept ub3rs.
