"Post here and PM me to recive this guide"

I hate this practice very much. Eventually I'll figure out a way to end it. At one point I changed how threads were displayed in the marketplace so that it was not by last post but instead by the first post. So it could not happen in that situation.

I should do this in ebooks again.

The problem is enforcing a "no PM sent or PM post requests". I would see a lot of extra reported posts. The benefits of course are that LQP would hopefully diminish.

Something eventually will be done about this though. It's a nuisance and I've always recognized this type of activity as detrimental.
Here is 10 basically what will happen, you will get 10 pms asking for the guide, then it will disappear from the top page and have no replies, this is very similar to hacking tuts, a lot of GREAT tuts go to waste because no one s up the thread, so in short I disagree.

What gives some people the right to give their guides higher priority than others?

If their not good enough guides to keep up with the rest then they should be at the bottom anyways

But not if the first three pages are full of "post here to recive this"- guides.

Then I prefer if you could come up with the post to unlock system or such it would be best and possible way to clear this ruckus.
I think the idea is good.
However, I think its ok to make people post to get the content.
But I hate whenever I need to PM someone to get something.
I'ts annoyiing.

Simply requiring a PM in order to get the guide is okay, but not requiring someone to their thread aswell.

Thoughts?

I agree with this. This is just damn annoying. ._. Luckily Omni is tying to think
of something to get around this. ._.

I made a thread like this a while back. Some good points were brought up on both sides.

Yea man, its so annoying to pm them all. i support
Well the problem isn't in my opinion that people have to PM them for their guide, it is the fact that users are forced to bum-p the writers thread and in that way giving them support without knowing anything about the quality of the guide. It gives them an unfair advantage over the people who don't do it in getting their guides promoted.

Also, it's great seeing Omni having this in mind! :)

members will easily get infected/backdoored/scam. because the 100 pages of thread will full with vouch n thanks but U will never know what OP is giving U when U request. Nobody will alert U about it, just like link posted in the thread.
The idea of posting and then acquiring the ebook is not intended for being kind but rather more for being a rep whore and a fame lover.

I have posted all my work to be publicly available to anyone without having to PM me to get it, and all I did was ask for them to at least say "Thanks" for taking my work for their own improvement.
I kind of think it should be banned as well. Most of the eBooks are less than a page long and could just be posted in a thread as text. A lot of eBooks are unnecessary.
