The Abuse of Sections

Which... is where reporting them can come into effect.. Making them more guilty, and you doing what you would have originally done.. no? xD

See my side of things bro?

The main reason I don't think this suggestion is necessary is because those posts belong in that section and if they don't, then you report them and they'll be dealt with.

I'm sorry that people are taking it so personally, but I'm just giving my opinion.

By all means, your opinion is greatly appreciated, by me at least.

The main point I wish to get out though is, Yes crypter related threads are in the right section along with every other cryptography related threads and posts.

But, there would be no harm and only improvement for all if the crypter threads had their own subsection within the cryptography thread just as the C# does in the VB section.

Like Xerucide said, this would provide a lot more room for more knowledgeable posts to be made and seen in the cryptography section, HQ posts wouldn't be buried within the crypter threads.

I understand your opinion and respect it completely, but I just don't see its importance.

The only option I've heard so far that's not bad is a section for "free crypts/crypters" within that section. Other than that, I don't think it's exactly necessary.

Well do you take an interest in Cryptography or related things? There are people who value that, and sadly, it's not as big or popular as the lounge. Fair or not, it's not the point, the point is, why not fix something if it could be fixed?

Of course I have an interest in cryptography, I created my own tool from scratch and use it regularly.

I value its importance and I understand that you expect that section to be booming with great ideas once it's "organized". But realistically, it's going to remain the same.

Be the change in that forum that you want to see so badly.
What Mr.Peanut is trying to say here is that these crypters in the Cryptography and Encryption section are comparable to having the PHP development section filled with PHP mail form generators. These crypters allow you to encrypt your files with just a few small changes and a push of a button. The section isn't so much about learning things about cryptography, there are just a bunch of free tools that implement various methods of cryptography being posted.

The simple answer is that nothing will likely be done about it, but it's a decent idea; and if implemented, it would bring about some interesting content.

For me and unfortunately a few others, we find it very important for this change to occur.

From the majority perspective, it doesn't seem that all important.

Coming from a user who strives for quality cryptography content and is a highly active member in the cryptography section... The importance for these threads to be sorted is enormous to me.

Without them being sorted, High Quality posts and threads will cease to exist in that section and you might as well just rename it to the Crypter section.

Again, All I ask is for the crypter threads to have their own sub-section within the cryptography section.

This right here is basically my point. Thank you for stating it for me.

I realize no action will most likely be taken, but man how much more I would love this place if it did haha.

The few who try to Be the change we wanna see just get swept away and overflowed by the other threads.

Overall I'ill always wish for the threads to be properly sorted within the section, but that'll defiantly not happen if it's only a couple of people wanting the change, even if it's greatly beneficial.

Thanks for everyone input though. :]

They Deserve their own sub-section within Cryptography!

This will be a win win for everyone!

Threads will be organized and a better forum will be formed!

I hope & support for the Crypters to have their own sub-section within the Cryptography section!

If this is ignored then crypter threads will continue to just overrun the threads that a truly about the subject!

I sincerly ask for your consideration!

Thank you! :]

I do agree with you... Hope that this will be sorted out... and Hope a new sub-forum is made for this.

I do not take part in contribution to that section but I think having it reform is a good thing as people who want to do challenges like Cody or whomever that was with the King playing card as ava. I enjoyed taking part in those and if those actual cryptography/decyphering threads get burried by free crypters and stuff yeah it's uncool.

I basically just lurk.
The definition of the forum is:
For discussion on keys, ciphers, and algorithms often used to keep information secret. Encryption is the art of concealing data and code.

Crypters uses encryption. They can post their crypting thread there, and the topic does not matter. They can post their thread as long as it follows the rules.

Exactly, so I think the forum is being used the way it was intended.

OP has discussed this, the issue is the flooding of threads specific to crypters.
It's kind of like we have an mp3 section, yet we have a dubstep subsection

Crypters are basically encryption based programs. No issue there.
The "MP3 section" is for general music. The dubstep section is for dubstep music. It has over 4000 threads and surely deserves its own section.
