Suggestion to Avoid Scams |

An efficient system that nobody uses or even knows about.
I don't really see a need for this. Users should be checking out a users profile and taking precaution before commencing a deal e.g. Making sure there isn't any scam reports against them, as well as using a MM when doing large deals.
-- Also scam reports are not 100% reliable or accurate. A user may have had a scam report opened on him by mistake such as: Using the wrong UID or name.

Yes, of course they should, but they don't. The whole point of this suggestion is to change that. Why don't people get that... True, but that's unavoidable and already happening. If this suggestion gets implemented, people will most likely make scam reports more often, with more invalid/falsified scam reports in return, but does that really outweigh the huge downside of a lot of members getting scammed every day? I personally don't think so. Besides, a scam report on you doesn't mean you're a scammer, it means someone accuses you of scamming, and if it's invalid or falsified, you can defend yourself. No matter what you do, there are still stupid people who don't take the proper precautions and fall for obvious scams. Glad that there's atleast someone with common sense. OT; A quick search is all that's needed, no need to implement such a huge thing. If you're lazy to check the database, their rep, and their UID for any scam reports, then you're just setting yourself up to be scammed. There is no need for this feature to be implemented. ![]() BTC: 1HH1ymra9RTUtx5kQNShikRuwVigA5uCtv

Yes, it's already easy, but yet the vast majority doesn't even consider searching the DDB before purchasing something. Sad but true. This suggestion will definitely change that. Why's that a bad thing? I don't see why it's a "huge thing" either. Sounds like a reason to support this suggestion to me... Indeed. To be honest, I wouldn't even know where to find the DDB if it wasn't for the HFES userscript. An even bigger problem for new users. I think this is the wrong type of thought, sometimes new members aren't familiar with HF's custom systems; and overlook the fact jumping right into the marketplace. Deal Disputes count should be shown in PostBit; but that's my opinion; whether or not Omni agrees, he will do what he thinks is best; doesn't matter how much support a suggestion gets. I still feel as though if you do not want to get scammed, then you should really be investigating the user you are dealing with. |
