I dont have a lot of contributions and they are pretty old but I helped a lot of member here in HF onsite and offsite. Also I helped to exposed a scamming business which caused their accounts ban.

Reason why you want to join?(take some time to fill this section): I want to join Red Lions because its the longest surviving group in HF and nokia2mon2 upgraded me to L33T because I won his contest but forgot to add me to the group https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?ti...id12661399 . I used to talk to them and they are very friendly and knowledgeable. I'm sure joining Red Lions will help me a lot to develop my skills.
How much time can you devote towards group activities:

What are some of your skills?

I've been graphic designing for very nearly 5 years now! I've been invited to Fly by Night, the Writers, The Brotherhood, Titans, Polymath, Pirates, The Empire, and various other groups for my design work. You can view some of my work here.
Until I resigned recently I had hosted the HFNT Graphics Gallery for many months. I also operate a successful store in the Graphics Marketplace.

Additionally, I'm extremely academic. You can view some academic information about me on the helpdesk thread I'll link below, but to paraphrase- I'm studying English (Literature) at Cambridge University, so I can provide a variety of discussions about academia in general or English Literature, as well as provide advice to people about their education. I can proofread, write eloquently, and communicate my ideas concisely and clearly (well, I hope so).

I also debate. I've debated at a national level for about 8 years now, and last year I reached the international final of the Oxford University Schools' debating competition, amongst other competitions. Debating is something I really enjoy, and as a result I've been in L'appel du vide since it was Void. Going hand in hand with this is a deep interest in current affairs and politics (I took an A-Level in it); I'm very much on top of world happenings and I follow global politics on a daily basis (literally).

Having the skills that I do allows for a fairly unlimited portfolio. Take for instance debating and graphic design; the ability to persuade, but then to also put such persuasion into an aesthetically pleasing image for consumers to read. Combining the two skills gives me the ability to market successfully; I have experience in real life with marketing, having worked with both the private sector and with politicians seeking re-election. Thus my skills take on an interconnected and transferable nature that is of value to any group, because it makes me a highly adaptable member with intertwined talents.

How can you contribute to the group?

I'm adaptable. I'm comfortable in almost any role in a group: I've led whole sectors single-handedly before (The Brotherhood's Design Bureau), I've pioneered projects for groups before (Launchpad as part of The Brotherhood, the Cicada 3301 contest for Polymath [sadly this never went ahead due to the group's sale], the Pirates DJ Lounge, and an upcoming Titans event), and I've also sat back and simply offered my services and extensive HF experience to the group more generally, such as by creating the recent deluge of Titans signatures to be seen on HF, as well as an almost immeasurable amount of other group graphics over my career.

This means that I can offer pretty much anything that Red Lions requires of me. I can get stuck in with the group's wider projects, deploying my wide range of transferable skills to see the project through to completion, or I can drive forwards with my own ideas as I've done in the past and am doing currently in Titans and privately. I have a variety of Graphics Marketplace projects on the boil that I can demonstrate upon request (PM me).

I can also continue and expand my contributions to the Personal Life forums in the name of the group. I try to help people insofar as I can with whatever their problem might be. In the past I've been recognised for my contributions to these sections both with large quantities of inbound green apples, but also by being invited to 143. Therefore, I can post various guides on subjects or topics that I have expertise in to try and help others out.

Reason why you want to join?

Because for as long as I can remember Red Lions has been a legacy group. It hasn't done much other than sit and wait, which I always thought was a real shame; there are a limited number of groups on the forum so any group that isn't publicly active isn't adding value to the site. Therefore, the fact that Red Lions is now recruiting excites me, because it implies that it's ready to begin adding value to Hack Forums and its users again. As with Titans before this, The Brotherhood before that, Polymath before that (and so on), I'm always up for helping a group to maximise its potential to participate in the forum by making it a more enjoyable place to spend time. After all, in the end that's why we're all here- to have fun, and perhaps to learn something in the process. I believe that contributing and adding value to the site ought to be about more than just throwing loose change at people on a random giveaway thread. It ought to be about helping people to achieve those two goals: to have fun, and to learn something. Notice, then, that all of my contributions listed above have nothing to do with giving money or freebies away to strangers on the internet. Instead, I try to help people to enjoy themselves or learn something, thus contributing to not only the website, but to their lives. That is why I want to join Red Lions; because it represents an opportunity like no other to use blue sky thinking and creativity to continue that contributing work I've begun elsewhere, as well as to help a group mobilise its considerable muscles and add value to the site and its users once more.

How much time can you devote towards group activities?

A decent amount. It varies day by day, but I always find time to do what's asked of me in other groups, and I'm canny about managing my time; I resigned my HFNT positions precisely so I could devote more screen time to group-related activities, for example. Don't worry about that.

In one paragraph, describe your personality:

Apparently, I'm an ENFJ personality type. I'm slightly extroverted in real life (hence the debating/public speaking), but I tend to be more reserved and private online. I'm extremely empathetic, and often care more about how I make others feel than for my own feelings. Some people say I'm witty. I don't pre-judge people, and I don't hold grudges. I like to think that I'm mature (or 'professional', as HF seems to refer to maturity), reasonably intelligent, and eloquent. I think I have an open mind to other points of view, but if you want to bring me round to your way of thinking on a topic then that'll take a good argument and some critical thinking. I'm creative, and I love brainstorming new ideas (even if they don't work out) and trying new things. I don't take life overly seriously; I try to have fun and succeed as far as possible, setting stretching goals for myself that thus far I've always managed to attain. In the end, though, the best way to figure out my personality is to get to know me!

When you type lol are you actually laughing out loud? I don't think so. There's no official meaning to it anyways. You can interpret Incognito™'s lol as wow if you wish to. 🤫

What is the true purpose of typing it then? The purpose then was internal laughter by your own definition of the acronym "lol." Why would I interpret something that is clearly defined by internet standards and has been for quite some time.

Also to your question. I do indeed laugh out loud when I type it.

OT: Some decent threads so far.

What is the true purpose? Sometimes, there is no true purpose at all. Got repfucked? Type lol. Got embarrassed? Type lol. When I type lol am I actually or internally laughing out loud? I dunno lol

Anyways, I'm just blabbering from my own perspective. The internet standards for short words have degraded so much (again in my opinion) over the years, even I wonder the actual meaning of lol used in sentences these days. Anyhow, this argument is going off topic. Sorry to Alone Vampire and respective group leaders of Red Lions for this off topic post. 🤫

In one paragraph, describe your personality:
My personality is one of a kind. I am funny, generous, and reliable. I treat everyone the same with the must utter respect, until they cross me, or do something behind my back. I am a college student, and I still come on Hackforums at least three times a day and I am wanting to make the most out of my group, Divine. I want to contribute back to the community as much as I can with Divine, because I feel as it is necessary. I am a very kind person, but at the same time, I am a businessman and marketer. I am studying Physical Therapy because I really enjoy helping people as much as I can. I am currently enrolled at a university to obtain my Doctrines degree within the field of studies.

Some of my skills are malware development, marketing, and business. I currently have my associates degree in Business management where I took at a university. Among request I can show you this privately. I also went to a technical school and earned a degree within welding, and I am currently studying Physical Therapy for my Doctrines degree.

How can you contribute to the group?:
I can contribute to the Red Lions group in many ways. I can develop ideas and bring them to the table, and also execute them in the proper manner. I can bring people from my group, Divine, to help these contributions on some of the aspects that may be needed. For instance, below I linked a contribution in the Divine subforum, I can get members of Divine to help code these ideas for the Red Lions group as well. I have a lot of potential that I can bring to the table of the Red Lions. You can easily remove me just as easy as you add me to the group, if you feel as I am not worthy.

5. For my 5th contribution I am going to say my group, Divine and also countless donations to Omniscient.

Reason why you want to join?(take some time to fill this section):
I am not going to write a page on this section of the application, as I feel you would get bored reading all of these applications, so I am going to be short and to the point. I want to join the Red Lions because it is a well respected, high quality group. I believe that I can achieve this for myself also while being in the Red Lions group. I feel as if everyone in it is one big family and I would like to be apart of that family. I feel as if I proved myself since my stay at Hackforums for being here for under two years. I wish to help members of the Red Lions develop and execute ideas that we can contribute to the community. Divine is currently braining storming some ideas within our subforum, and you can check them out for what I have in mind. I would like to take some of these ideas over to Red Lions so we all can contribute to the community as much as possible.

How much time can you devote towards group activities:
I can devote an excessive amount of time into the Red Lions group. I am a college student, however I still have time for Hackforums, where I can devote my time to the groups I am in. I am a man of my word, and when I say I will do something I will do it. I can easily get a solid two or three hours a day on weekdays towards the group, and countless hours over the weekend for the Red Lions.

What are some of your skills?: Networking, Network Security, Anti Virus Administration, Malware, Malware Removal, Light Programming.

RedLions has done some great things in the past, and a lot of groups have tried to follow in it's footsteps by basically copying what they've done. With the new leadership, I'd like to be apart of making RedLions active and restoring it to the group it once was. I believe I have the capabilities to really help this group more than most. In one paragraph, describe your personality: I want try and keep everything not only HF related, but outside life related as well. If I had to define my personality by multiple characteristics, it would have to be a weird mixture of laid back, helpful, persistent, observative, loyal, and attentive. The reason for that weird mix? It's what makes me different from others and everyone different from one another. I try to be as helpful on the site as possible while learning as much as I can in areas that I am interested and not being forced off site by some members who can be rude to others who aren't as knowledgeable in areas as they are. I also take the time to meet new people, whether on or off site, out in public or at work, to try and make new friends and not seem so introverted. Basically even though I am no longer in school, I still try to learn new things everyday.

  • Various/novice white hat and malware removal skills
  • Website design (html, css, php, a little bit here and there)
  • Also have begun to learn C# for various application uses
  • Jailbreaking various iOS devices and their counterparts.

How can you contribute to the group?: Outside of activity, I can also bring Red Lion into sections that they no longer or haven't dwelled into before. I like to post around everywhere, from innuendo, to gaming, to various tech related sub-forums and so on. Can also contribute to various Red Lions Giveaways as needed.

Reason why you want to join?(take some time to fill this section): This is where most people will throw the old "Red Lions is the most HQ group here on HackForums" song and dance, and it's mostly to gain entry to the group. To me, to join a group that houses some of the more respected members here on HackForums would be something short of awesome. I know people say this a lot, but I think I'd fit in with the members of this group very well and really is one of the only groups I have applied to recently because of that reason. I don't want to apply for the userbar, hell that is never the aim when applying for a group. Basically, the bottom line, no bullshit answer is that I want to join because I believe I fit in with it's current members. To get respect you have to give respect. I also want to find a group that I can join that won't up and sell 3 months down the road after they have made their money off of buyins and various other things. Just basically searching for a place I can fit in with others.

How much time can you devote towards group activities: As much as needed. I know it is a commonly posted answer, but after work and excluding some other activities, I have nothing but free time to devote to the group if needed. I only apply to groups I plan to be active in or are in a field that I am interested in, and seeming as there is nothing on HF that really peaks my interest outside of the sections that I post in, I have nothing but time.

Rate your grammar, on a scale from 1-10: I truly, honestly would have to rate myself a nine out of ten, as I am extremely bothered when words are spelled in correctly on thread designs and on public pieces in general. To me, especially when someone is selling a product, an incorrectly spelled word or poorly phrased sentence signifies a lack of professionalism, and almost always means that I avoid the product.

What are some of your skills?: To be completely honest, I wouldn't say that I've mastered any one element. I can do some photo editing when necessary, and I delve in almost every aspect of technology, always figuring out what I need to, and then moving on.

Reason why you want to join?(take some time to fill this section): First of all, I just want to say, with complete sincerity, that I have always wanted to join the Red Lions. I'm not sure what initially peaked my interest, but ever since I joined HF I've idolized the Red Lions. To me, those of you honored enough to be in the group have a sort-of legendary status. In particular, nokia2mon2 has always seemed to me like the type of HF member I aspire to be. Someone who is able to impress and please Omni to the point where they receive their own unique reward, and the shining praise that accompanied it is simply amazing. On top of that, the idea that someone as prestigious as a staff member like Alone Vampire could be in charge of a group is mind-blowing. For someone to have earned the title of "Staff," they must represent everything Omni could want in a member of his forum. This prestige and high level of expectations doesn't simply stop when it comes to groups; I'd imagine that a group run by a staff member would be the best possible experience one could have in a group, period. Even further, I'd imagine that to become a Writer, one has to be a certain caliber member of HF, for a long period of time. I consistently read the news and am always grateful for the amount of work and dedication that must be poured into such an awesome project.

How much time can you devote towards group activities: As far as group activities are concerned, I really don't have many commitments at this period in my life, other than school, and the sports that I play afterwards. What I'm saying is, I could easily spare (at the very least) a few solid hours on a weekly basis to contribute the group.

Thanks for your consideration!
Don't wait.
Gosh the time has finally arrived. I've been waiting for a long time haha.

I've been working with servers for around ~6 years now largely consisting of things like Web server networks, VPN Networks, I've worked with multiple distro's such as Ubuntu & CentOS as well as Debian. Alongside having lots of experience with servers, I'm also a junior web developer, I can fluently code HTML and CSS but my color blindness disability ruins the aesthetics of my developed pages. I am starting to get better with my color choices regardless. I am also currently learning C# for application developing and just finished my inventory application for my uncles shop. I am also great at teaching others what I have learned.

How can you contribute to the group?: As stated above I can utilize my skill set to insure that members of the group receive knowledge that they can utilize later on. I'm a casual person, group members can always ask me for help and be welcomed with open arms without question. With my extensive servers & networks background I feel like I can be a real asset in terms of knowledge when it comes to sharing. My first attempt is to be very mature but after all we are humans and at times snap. I'm a fun joking kind of person and can give lots of fun to the group and lighten the atmosphere.

I usually am not public about helping and mostly either have the person PM me or I PM them / talk through skype etc. I've been planing a few contests but with my summer schedule on vacation things got very tough and I only had access to my phone. Since then school has started, I hope I'll be able to schedule more contests soon!

Reason why you want to join?(take some time to fill this section):

I've been on HF for around 2 years now, almost 3. Within that period of time I've always wanted to achieve a few things, with the start being gain knowledge, but knowledge can't be stopped, even when you think you've learned all there is to know there's always something that you don't know, with that being said another achievement I've wanted to meet was joining two groups. One being 143 ( I love you ) which I was very thankful to be invited into, and the second group being Red Lions. I've always looked upon both groups as being the superior elevated groups ( don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say it in a cocky way ) I viewed both groups as being certain of their way & values without hesitation as well as having the self determination to continue without taking into consideration societies words. All groups ever established have been sold, as far as I know Red Lions is currently the ONLY group on HF that has never been sold. Props to you guys for that!

To date I've applied to around 3 groups on HF, I no longer remember the other two but the latest application that I made was for the Revolution group, which was sold around a year ago? As you can see I have absolutely no interest in groups unless they actually catch my eye, I hold certain groups to certain standards with Red Lions being at the top of pyramid. To break all this down, I simply want to join Red Lions because not only do they stay true to their beliefs they have managed to change the standards of groups on HF while gaining the respect of many HF members such as myself.

How much time can you devote towards group activities: I can devote a large portion of my time without hesitation, I am always browsing HF even if I'm not posting. I will attempt to devote as much time as possible to Red Lions at times this may be 5 - 8 hours but at times this could only be 30 minutes. Life is unpredictable coming home from school late etc. could change the time heavily.

Thanks for reading, I appreciate you taking a look and perhaps even considering me as a candidate. All the best to my fellow candidates!

In one paragraph, describe your personality: I like to think of myself as an honest and easy going person. I have always been an honest person on and off of the internet. I think that it is better to genuine person rather that being someone who likes to take advantage of other people for personal gain. I feel that I am very easy going and tend to go with the flow. I like to embrace change and make the best of any situation. I'd consider myself very ambitious person. I am always setting goals for myself and trying to reach them. I think that by setting a goal for myself I am more motivated to reach it. Also I feel that I adapt well in most situations. I am a quick learner and feel that it helps me in most situations. I would consider myself me be slightly introverted, but do not consider it to be a negative quality.

How can you contribute to the group?: I feel that I can contribute to the group in many ways. I feel that I can help represent the group in a positive way. I try to conduct myself in a certain manner on Hack Forums and could live up to the group's expectations. I am a dedicated and willing person. What mysteries /tasks behind that userbar is beyond me, but I feel that I am a person who could complete them. I try to be an active member and this group could possibly give me the spark to find why I really like Hack Forums again. I feel that it would be a motivating factor to write a tutorial or run a help desk. What I am really trying to say is that I have learned a lot during my time spent on Hack Forums and I am eager to share that knowledge with members new and old.

Reason why you want to join?(take some time to fill this section): I do not want to sound bad here saying that this has been a bucketlist group for me, but it has. Ever since I first joined Hack Forums the most high quality members have been a part of this group. Back when they were ridding the Hack Forum's marketplace of scammers I wanted to be a part of that. I remember being on vacation for one of the recruitments and not being able to fill out an application. I have kicked myself for not doing once via mobile back then. The group seems very fun and mysterious. I like what the group stands for and feel that I could represent the Red Lions in a positive way. I see what they're doing in certain sections in the marketplace currently and wish I was a part of that. I should not be admitting this, but over the summer my posting on the forums has gone down. I still post, but I feel that by being in the Red Lions it would ignite something inside me to use the forums how I used to. I feel that I have a lot to share and want to give back to the community as a part of a group who can do so in a quality manner. Another reason would be that Red Lions does not accept buyins and does not look like they will ever sell. I want to be a part of something that will not be changed in the next 3 months or require me to pay them to be a part of. I respect the fact that the group has been running the same for over 4 years and hope to see it running that way for many more to come.

How much time can you devote towards group activities: I am a fairly active member and spend a lot of time on Hack Forums. I do have a job and school, but outside of that I spend a few hours per day on Hack Forums. I cannot give a specific amount of time, but I guarantee that I can contribute enough time to be active in the subforum daily and participate in any group projects.
