How many seconds will you wait holding the door for someone?

If you had to put a number of seconds to it, how many seconds do you wait for people before you decide it’s not worth holding the door?

For me, it’s 5 seconds.
I will wait as long as it takes if it's elderly or disabled people.

Hot woman maybe 3 mins?

Family 2.5 seconds (Best I could do)

I would probably wait until they have entered or exited the doorway.

Ok go to the nearest door and please hold it for me I’ll be there soon. Lol. That’s not what I’m asking

I mean it kind of is but until i say it's not worth it would be something like around 7 seconds.

exact the same but 0 for everything else
Uh not something I think about. I just automatically kinda know if it's worth holding or nah.

Mate, Of course you don’t think about it haha. I’m asking you to think about it in theory. Everyone’s “automatic” system is different!
If I were to think about it and put a time on it I'd say like 3-4 seconds depending on who it is. If it's someone who is elderly or disabled of course I'd wait as long as it took for them to get to the door. However, if it's somebody who is perfectly able-bodied and they see me holding the door yet they purposely drag their feet along to go as slow as possible then I am more geared towards letting the door close.

Overall, most people do hold the door if they see or know someone is coming. However, you also have those people who seem totally oblivious to anybody else and just let the door slam when I'm inches away from grabbing it from them.

More so distance, rather than time. If they're over like 2 meters away I generally don't if I don't know them

Totally get that. Also how fast they’re walking.

For real. I guess except elderly/disabled if I was aware they were anywhere close by I'd wait regardless of distance/time

This made me laugh. thanks.
5 seconds if they're not actively coming in, until they come in if they're approaching.

Once I commit, I'll hold it as long as they take to get to the door. But if they stop and aren't walking, then sure I'll stop and move on. Definitely have found myself in situations where I underestimated how slow someone was, and ended up holding the door for an awkward amount of time. But oh well, shit happens. I think it would be incredibly rude to begin to hold it, and then just stop, if they're actively walking in.
