New Recruitment Incoming
Will be recruiting for the standard sections and for our new Interview team. Yes, Interviews are making a comeback. Will take some time but hope to see Interviews in full force and better than ever. Maybe the team might have to voice their opinions - like a podcast.

Oldest Known Cave Drawing Found
This South African cave has sent ripples through the scientific community. The cave drawings observed here are believed to be around 73,000 years old, as opposed to the approximately 40,000-year-old drawings prior. Most importantly this discovery allows us to definitely prove that early homo sapiens behaved the same as us at an earlier point in history. The source article also goes into gross detail concerning the analysis of the drawings as well as different conclusions that can be drawn from them.  >>Source

Climate Change Targets in Paris Agreement Destroyed
We are on course to break through the guidelines set in the Paris agreements much sooner than predicted. Experts are also accusing governments of engaging in what they call "wishful thinking" when it comes to addressing these very tangible concerns. Expert Thomas Gasser had this to say on the limits: “The scientific answer to ‘how soon are we likely to exceed our Paris target’ is somewhere between 10 years ago and the next 20 years. Definitely not later than that,”  It is more obvious than ever that action must be taken on a global scale, it is only a matter of time to see which nation steps up. >>Source

Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa to be first SpaceX passenger to tour the moon
On Monday, 17 September 2018, SpaceX publicly announced that they now have their first tourist to travel to the moon. Elon Musk, SpaceX CEO stated that Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa signed with the company on Monday the 17th where he will travel “in the company’s next generation rocket,” completing a full cycle around the moon. The billionaire will attempt to be the first person to travel back to the moon in nearly half a century, which will be done by the power of the Big Falcon Rocket (BFR). The BFR is SpaceX’s flagship rocket that portrays Musk’s vision of a permanent solution to self-sustaining life on Mars. The anticipated trip is expected to launch in 2023, though no specifics have been prescribed. Maezawa says his inspiration to travel to the moon is fueled by his love for the astronomical body that he’s had ever since he was a kid.

SpaceX initially announced of space travel opportunities in February 2017, where it was said that two passengers would be onboard the Crew Dragon, but in early 2018, Musk and other executives of SpaceX reconsidered the option and finalized on the decision to utilize BFR instead. Mr. Maezawa was one of the two people originally mentioned when the Crew Dragon was under suggestion, but there will now be additional parties onboard. “BFR is a massive, 35-story tall rocket designed to launch and land like SpaceX's Falcon 9, but also carrying dozens of people on board instead of just satellites. Musk confirmed BFR's "design has been changed," after receiving questions about new renders of the rocket posted online.” >>Source

Amazon employees allegedly accept bribes to delete negative reviews
When striving to be a well-respected seller in the oversaturated world of e-commerce, negative reviews can be deadly, especially when the reviews are easily accessible to millions upon millions of customers, some interested in the product. In efforts to help maintain a pristine image on the global sales site of Amazon, sellers allegedly offer Amazon employees to delete negative reviews or provide the seller with the reviewers’ email addresses in exchange for a payout. “According to the Wall Street Journal's sources, this practice is especially common in China, where small business owners sometimes pay Amazon employees around $300 for each bad review they take down.” This service is reportedly brokered through a Chinese messaging service named WeChat, where it’s possible for sellers to connect with Amazon employees and discuss offers. In it said that brokers could even seek to obtain information on “sales volume and data relating to shoppers’ online spending habits in order to boost sales.”

Amazon policies clearly prohibit the providing of personal information and have also launched an internal investigation to weed out the persecutors who have been taking advantage of violating the company’s policies. An Amazon spokesperson said to Business Insider, the retail giant holds employees to a ‘high ethical standard,’ where they further stated that violating these policies “faces discipline, including termination and potential legal and criminal penalties.” The spokesperson stated that [they] have zero tolerance for abuse of our systems and if we find bad actors who have engaged in this behavior, we will take swift action against them, including terminating their selling accounts, deleting reviews, withholding funds, and taking legal action.” >>Source

Mexico stops hotel project at sea turtle nesting beach
Mexican authorities say they recently denied permits for a hotel-to-be near “one of Mexico’s most important sea turtle nesting beaches on the Caribbean.” The proposed hotel would have consisted of 520 rooms and 23 newly-erected structures inland on Xcacel beach. “The federal Environment Department said in statement late Monday the project could threaten Xcacel, and called it ‘the site with the largest observed nesting of sea turtles on the entire Yucatan Peninsula.’” The site, north of the resort of Tulum, houses loggerhead, hawksbill, and green sea turtles, which consists of “protected” land. Environmental authorities say that this particular spot has been a target for property building since the late 1990s, and not too long ago, an ‘eco hotel’ project was turned down for the same reason as now. Mexican environmental groups have been consistently pushing for the banning of all fishing on the Sea of Cortez to aid in the protection of endangered vaquita porpoise, that of which species “fewer than 30 remain.”  >>Source
