So I got a deal for either a GTX 1070TI from Asus TURBO'ed or a GTX 1080 for the same price, paired with a I7 8700k.
Which one is more worth it? I've heard conspiracies that nvidia is trying to limit the 1070ti to make it not as good as the 1080 but not sure, really need help here boys.

Performance is basically the same between them, the 1070Ti runs cooler, draws less power and is quieter.

Nvidia forced partner card companies to not OC the cards passed the 1070Ti FE speeds out of the box, that said you can still OC them once you get it.

The 1080 is such a tiny bit faster so if they are the same price the 1080. But usually the 1080 is way more expensive for like neglectable difference.
