I have a dead laptop with a pretty good NVIDIA GPU. I was wondering if it is possible to take it out of my laptop and put it into my desktop? I built my PC a few months ago and didnt order a GPU with plans to save up for a 2080 but shit keeps popping up and I still havent gotten it. So I was thinking about trying this, if possible, just for a little bit until i can afford a new GPU
Putting laptop GPU into desktop? |

They are generally soldered to the motherboard with all the rest of the components integrated onto the motherboard. Oh no I did some research and the one in mine unscrews like an ssd. So was wondering I guess if there is some sort of adapter. From whatever input the GPU is to the PCIe.

Eurocom makes an MXM to PCIe x16 adapter, but they start at $500, so honestly completely pointless.

Whih is steal considering these things are selling for $400+ right now. Just set it all up and its working great! |
