U.S. 30-year yields drop to fresh record low below 2%
With worries about the global economy slowing down and trade tensions around the globe increasing, the U.S bonds market reported an inversion of the yield curve, which could be an indicator of a coming recession. Even with these worries in mind, and with 30-year yields falling below short term yields, the market is confident that this is not something to be concerned about especially seeing that there is an increase in U.S consumer spending. U.S retail sales were up 0.7% in July 2019, far surpassing the 0.3% predicted rate. The day after the inversion happened and long-term yields fell below 2%, the only positive news was that the market is holding steady, anchored by U.S consumer sales numbers.

As Recession Concerns Mount, Dozens of Central Banks Are Cutting Rates
Concerns about Brexit, trade wars and slowing global economic growth have driven banks to cut back on their interest rates to help stimulate borrowing and therefore prop up economies likely to be affected. Some of the surprises include New Zealand, India and Thailand, which lowered their interest rates. Even in the United States, Trump is urging the Federal Reserve to keep dropping its benchmark interest rates. All of this is being done to protect economies from the risk of a recession. Even if these interventions can help reduce the risks associated with a recession, they pose another problem: they could lead to a race to the bottom. In cutting interest rates and stimulating borrowing at home, governments weaken their currency to encourage the exportation of goods and services and discourage the importation of the same. The effect of this could be runaway currency depreciation around the world, unleashing the exact effects the interest rate cuts were supposed to prevent.

Alibaba earnings show Chinese consumers are still shopping despite trade war
Even with the ongoing trade war between the United States and China, Chinese consumers are still spending. Alibaba reports that it saw a 40% growth in sales in its latest quarter. Even if growth was expected, the reported 40% was much better than had been predicted by analysts. Mobile users and improved sales in their Taobao and Tmall platforms are thought to be behind this growth. With this announcement, Alibaba shares rose about 3%. This rise was short-lived as the share price fell the following day amid fears of a U.S recession. Another core part of Alibaba’s business, Alibaba computing unit also saw a 66% growth in sales over last year’s sales.

Here is yet another Hot Ones episode for you guys, this time they got none other than the world famous Stone Cold Steve Austin. He is a former WWF (WWE) wrestler, and he talks a bit about how it was like. After a while, once the scoville levels reached over one hundred thousand, he really starts to feel it. Dollar Store Items Not Worth $1
The YouTube channel "Dope or Nope" has uploaded a video where they get a bunch of dollar store items, try them out and rate them. They will determine whether the items are worth it or not. I always felt like the dollar stores always had some good item and some others that are complete trash. They try out some crappy items as well as some pretty decent ones. >>Source

The Sims 4: Realms of Magic Game Trailer
EA games is releasing yet another addition to The Sims 4, this time it's the "Realms of Magic." From the looks of it, you get to explore an entirely new world filled with magical and wizardly items and events. You can become a witch, cast spells and duel other sims. It looks like magic may either be a new skill or be an entire subcategory skillet for different magical abilities. We will know for sure once it is released on September 10, 2019. >>Source

Man Who Survived Underwater for 3 Days
This is the story of  Harrison Okene, the fisherman who survived a boat sinking accident trapped underwater for 3 days. The YouTube channel "The Infographics Show" explained the situation along with an animation. The man survived being trapped underwater for three days, inside an air pocket. Out of the entire crew, he was the only known survivor. It was a miracle that he was able to survive such a catastrophe. >>Source
