I will share an experience that I have had with edibles at the end of the thread. An experience which I remember till this day and one that has changed my life in a subtle but meaningful way. This happened in my early days of dabbling with weed, and I don't get experiences like that anymore, unless I take a very long tolerance break, a high enough dose, and a good headspace. If you experienced something similar, you might find the story cool :)

Intro

Cannabis edibles are a very great, discreet and flavorful way to feel the wonderful effects of THC and another cannabinoids. This works very well if you are not a fan of smoking or vaping. The possibilities are endless here, from the classic brownies to gummies, tea, candy, pancakes... Use your creativity! I like to make my edibles out of bud that is not very high quality - has a harsh taste, doesn't smoke well, is too dry etc., while I use high quality bud for smoking. Don't throw away your stems, leaves or candy leaves, they all have traces of cannabinoids and you can throw them in the mix while making cannabutter, a base for most cannabis edibles, to potentiate the effects.
I will be focusing on homemade edibles since I am not in an area where it's legal, so I will not go over edibles you can legally purchase as I want to bring out only accurate information to you, and stuff that I have had my own personal experience with.

Dosing

First of all, you need to know that ingesting THC another cannabinoids through edibles is different than smoking it, and you need significantly less THC to get high. If weed is expensive in your area or you want to get the most out of it, edibles are the way.
Secondly, unlike smoking cannabis when you feel the effects almost instantly, edibles take a while to kick in. It depends on how empty your stomach is, but it can take anywhere from 30 minutes up to 4 hours! So be careful, you can always take more, but not less. If you fucked up, just ride it out and enjoy the waves :D

Here is a nice edibles dosing chart:

Decarboxylation

Before we dive into some recipes, you should know what decarboxylation is. In it's fresh and raw form, weed actually contains THCA and CBDA, which are not psychoactive. Only through heating them, they go through the process called decarboxylation which converts THCA and CBDA into THC and CBD, which is the thing we're looking for.
Decarbing your weed is simple. Turn up the oven to 220–245°F (104–118°C). Break down your weed into fine pieces but don't grind it, as it increases chance of your precious cannabinoids burning. Next, evenly place the cannabis on a baking sheet, put it into your oven tray and into the oven. Aim for 30-40 minutes, while mixing the weed every 10 minutes and checking on the color to make sure it doesn't burn. We are looking for a brownish color and it will naturally be more dry. That's it, now you have THC activated cannabis and you are ready to make edibles!

Cannabutter

One more thing I'd like to go over before heading to recipes is cannabutter, since it's the base for most edibles! The quality of your cannabis butter will ultimately determine the potency of your edibles. I like to either use butter or coconut oil. Take about 150g (or more depending on how much edibles you plan to make, this measurement is for one tray of brownies) of butter or coconut oil, put it in a pan over low heat and put in your decarbed cannabis. Let it simmer on low heat, allowing the THC to bind to fat. Leave it on low heat for about 1-2 hours and make sure to stir often to avoid it boiling or burning. After you get a brownish color, you can strain the butter. There you have it, the base for your edibles!
Take note this stinks up your whole apartment, house, building, even more than smoking, so if you have nosy neighbors, do it at night!

Firecrackers

Firecrackers are the first edibles I've made and I have been making them for a while since they are the fastest to make and doesn't require cannabutter. They are done within 20 minutes and are very cheap.
You need: graham or similar crackers, nutella or peanut butter, or your favorite spread. Just make sure there is enough fat in the final mixture you're using so that the THC can bind to. And you need your weed ofcourse.
Take 2 graham crackers, evenly apply your tasty spread of choice on one side, and then sprinkle your decarbed cannabis on it. You may want to mix it up a bit so the weed really gets mixed with the fatty spread, ensuring higher potency. After that, just make a sandwich with the crackers. Put them in aluminum foil and in the oven for 20 minutes at 150°C (300°F). After it's done, let them cool and eat one :D enjoy your ride!

Brownies

The most classic and common cannabis edibles! The king of edibles!
This is basically just making brownies as you always would, but you would add cannabutter instead of regular butter. You can use a store-bought ready mixture for brownies, or you can make them from scratch, both works! There are a lot of recipes out there which you can explore, but if you just want to get high by edible brownies without much of the baking part, just get the ready mixture, follow the instructions on the box and enjoy!

Gummies

These are tricky to make, at least for me. I've tried 3 times, and I haven't had much success with them. They weren't a total failure, but I definitely wasted a lot of product during the process. However, these are a great way of consuming THC at music festivals and concerts.
You need: your cannabutter, a package of flavored jello, 2 tablespoons of unflavored gelation, half a teaspoon of sunflower oil and half a cup of water. For the equipment you'll need a saucepan, mixing bowl, whisk, squeeze bottle/dropper and a gummy mold.
Mix ½ cup of cold water, ½ cup of cannabis-infused oil, and ½ teaspoon of sunflower oil to a small saucepan and turn it on low heat.
Next, while stirring you should gradually add your jello and gelatin. Continuously stir this mixture for 10-15 minutes over low heat so all the ingredients combine. Be very careful not the let the mixture boil, that why it's important to watch over it, stir, and adjust the heat if needed. If you notice white foam appear, lower the heat. After you got a nice and smooth consistency you should start filling your gummy molds. But beware, you will still need to keep it on low heat and stir while filling the molds, because if the mixture starts to get cold, the oil in it will separate, and we don't want that. This is where I messed up along with it boiling at some point so my gummies weren't as potent as I would have liked them to be. After you've successfully filled your molds, it's time to freeze the gummies! After they're frozen, leave them on a piece of parchment paper for them to air-dry. There you have it!

ONE OF MY EXPERIENCES

This is what I said at the beginning of the thread. I wanted to share a little experience that happened to me back in 2019 under the influence of edibles. Back at the time my tolerance was low and it was only my third time trying edibles and boy did it hit the spot! It was around February and I was kind of lost and in a stagnant state of life. I was looking for some kind of excitement, fulfillment, hobby, plan! I had a few days off work, so I made myself some firecrackers and went to my room which I previously cleaned so I can have a nice time. The firecrackers hit me gradually and I kept getting higher and higher as time went by, but nothing was uncomfortable or overwhelming, I enjoyed the waves. My plan was just to chill with music, voice chat a friend and play some Rocket League, which I did. But as he had work in the morning, we stopped playing and I was left with the wonder of what to do next.
If you know me even a little, you know I have a passion for EDM music and visiting EDM festivals, the rave lifestyle and PLUR. So I asked myself, why am I not setting up a plan on how to save enough money for a few music festivals that year. It's February, summer is coming, and I have nothing planned. So I jumped on my PC, opened up Word or a different program, and started brainstorming. After some time, I made my blue-print. My plan. How much I needed, how will I get the money, where I can save up. It was a very detailed plan with about 10 pages and I left room to write progress as months went by. I spent a few hours on all this, then went to chill on my bed thinking about the plan. The experience has stuck with me for several days. I got to work immediately the day after as I didn't want to waste any time.
Fast-forward to summer - I HAVE COMPLETED MY PLAN SUCCESSFULLY. And it was amazing how accurate I accomplished things, it was exactly as I planned, making xy amount this month from xy method etc. It all went according to plan I even overkilled it as I could afford to pay for one whole festival for my brother, which at the time seemed unrealistic.
I had the time of my life at those festivals, met so many amazing people around the world, learned a lot about myself and it changed my view on life.
That's my story, hope you enjoyed reading!

Outro

That pretty much sums it up! This thread might not be useful for all of you in legal states, but I want to pump out quality content regardless.
If you are looking to get the most out of your cannabis, make edibles, it will last you much longer and will save you lots of money. I personally love smoking and the sensation of the cannabis smoke entering my lungs and getting that instant head rush, but edibles are a nice alternative and it's good to switch things up.
I might update this thread with more recipes in the future.
Enjoy <3

Haven't made my own edibles, but going to have to try this out.

Nice! We used a boiling water to extract chlorofyl (like a tea, few times with boil water, till green color and nasty taste/smell disappears) this is maybe little easier way to do it. No THC or CBDA lost, because can attach to fats only. Thanks for sharing
