Charlie Sheen Admin By Omniscient
This week we are pleased to announce a new staff update. After 13 years of dedication and loyalty to Hack Forums Charlie Sheen has been promoted to Admin. Over years and many contributions he has consistently proven him self to be a top tier member of staff. With this new promotion he will take on extra responsibilities one of these being assisting with deal disputes, now being a part of the Admin group he will have the needed elevated privileges to help bring them to a resolution. He now has the ability to view PM's, convos, logs and more which are essential for properly assisting in disputes. This change will also help reduce the work load Omniscient has to deal with freeing up time for him to focus on future developments and upgrades, with the hint of great things and new features coming to the forum this year too. Please join us in congratulating Charlie Sheen on a well deserved promotion, thank you for your continued support.
BustaByte Game By Omniscient
BustaByte is a brand new Hack Forums betting game developed by Riggs delivering a classic Bustabit-style crash experience right to the Hack Forums community. Using the Hack Forums API and Bytes integration, users can sign in with their Hack Forums account, deposit Bytes from their wallet, and place bets. An Award Goal tied to BustaByte has also been teased and is expected to arrive within the next few days. For more information or any questions, check out the feedback thread along with Riggs original thread. Do you think you can cash out before the crash?
HF Contest Ideas By Cap
A new community event may soon be making its way to Hack Forums, Cap has recently started discussing hosting a large community contest. As these events take lots of planning and implementation community feedback is being gathered before any final decision is made. We encourage all members to check the thread for past examples and share their suggestions of which event they would like to see/return to Hack Forums.
Subscribe to a user or Follow Button By 7
We have seen a small behind the scenes change to how profiles are laid out, the follow button (smiley face) has been moved directly onto the header space next to the PM icon. The old drop down menu has been completely removed, all of the options previously found there except one are accessible on the profile already. The only feature removed that was in the drop down menu is "Verify secret" which is now no longer accessible via profiles, and has been removed from the profile block due to lack of use.

▸ Last game you genuinely enjoyed?
by Psilocybe
A nostalgic gaming thread that hits a feeling a lot of people probably understand. Psilocybe talks about finally finding real enjoyment again through No Man's Sky, after years of games not quite giving that same spark. The replies turn into a mix of old favorites, comfort games, and titles people still remember for the way they made them feel. A nice reminder that sometimes the best games are not the newest ones, but the ones that make you lose track of time again.
▸ Post a selfie
by ModernEHustle
A simple Lounge thread with classic HF energy. ModernEHustle invites members to post what they look like, and the thread quickly becomes a mix of jokes, hesitation, old photos, profile-picture banter, and the usual suspicion that someone is probably saving everything in a folder. Not a serious thread by any means, but definitely one of those HF posts that brings out the personality of the forum.
▸ How Alcohol Tricks Your Primal Brain & Can Leave You Stuck in Fear Mode
by Rsynced
A personal and surprisingly thoughtful post about alcohol, anxiety, fear responses, and the way bad coping habits can slowly condition the mind. Rsynced breaks the topic down through the idea of the primal brain taking over when stress, adrenaline, and alcohol mix in unhealthy ways. The thread also shares practical grounding and breathing methods while keeping the tone honest and direct. A very useful read for anyone thinking about stress, drinking, panic, or how hard it can be to retrain yourself after relying on a chemical escape.
▸ Been away from here to figure out what is wrong with me...
by Rsynced
A raw comeback thread from Rsynced explaining where he has been and what he has learned while trying to understand his own mind, health, anxiety, and relationship with alcohol. What makes the thread stand out is not just the original post, but the replies - members welcome him back, share their own progress, and keep the tone supportive without making it overly polished. One of those HF threads where the rough edges actually make it feel more real.
On a personal note: I'm glad you're back Rsynced and hope you found what you were looking for.
▸ Where is the world heading?
by Mxstermind
A broad discussion starter about the next 10-20 years and whether the world is moving toward more freedom, more control, more opportunity, or quiet decline. Mxstermind lays out the big themes - AI, automation, surveillance, inequality, climate pressure, and geopolitical tension - then opens the floor for predictions. The first replies already show how heavy this kind of question can get, moving from world events into personal exhaustion and uncertainty. A good thread for anyone interested in future-gazing, tech anxiety, and where people honestly think society is going.

The Power of Listening
In a world where everyone wants to be heard, the ability to listen has become rare. Most people listen just long enough to reply, not to understand. Yet strong friendships, successful teams, and meaningful conversations are built on genuine listening. When people feel understood, trust grows naturally.
Advice of the week
Listen to understand, not just to respond.
Quote of the week
“Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply.”
— Stephen R. Covey
