In the past few weeks, people have experienced issues with browsing on their mobile devices; typically, this can be solved by clearing the browser cache on your device. In this blog post, I will explain how to clear the browser cache for any Android device (Samsung, Huawei, and more).
What is browser cache and cookies?
Cookies and browser cache is data collected from websites that you’ve previously visited. During your stay on a website, you will continuously download cookies and browser cache. Whenever you visit a site you have previously been on, your browser will automatically announce this to the website, so that you aren’t forced to re-download the same cookies and cache you already have stored on your device.
Cookies are helpful for remembering your information such as: username and password, preferences for that particular website. Your cookies are frequently used to issue targeted ads that fit your needs and past searches throughout the internet.
Your browser saves your cookies and cache until they hit the expiration date, this could be in years, or it could be tomorrow due to missing storage. There’s no exact timeframe. Your data will be overwritten when you hit a certain amount of usage.
A browser is used daily, you use it to check your incoming email, browse through your social media, buying products online, browsing your go-to news site or heck, browsing Hack Forums. Your browser will continuously gather information and store it on your device, which, in the end can cause issues with download new material down from the particular website, or have issues updating with whatever changes there may have been on the website. This is why it is always a good idea to clear your browser cache and cookies regularly, as this will keep your storage at a low, but also allow websites to upload new information to your browser. Clearing it frequently gives the website the opportunity to always upload new data, if there is any, to your device. The con of frequently clearing this data results in your saved data such as usernames and passwords being erased, and you’ll have to re-enter these. The plus side of everything is, your privacy is much more secure, and your browser will work better, if not faster.
