Goldman Sachs Classes Bitcoin as a New Asset Class
Investment banking titan Goldman Sachs revealed in a new piece of research that they consider Bitcoin to be an "investable asset". The global head of digital assets, Matthew McDermott, described the coin as not behaving similiar to other assets, going on to state that "it’s not often that we get to witness the emergence of a new asset class." To many in the cryptocurrency scene, this was not met with open arms. Users on Reddit joked about how Goldman Sachs must have bought the dip. Some commenters discussed how they believe that the firm saw this as nothing more than a money making opportunity, as opposed to a chance to help advance the acceptance of cryptocurrencies, and that this statement is solely because of that. >>Source

In a tweet on the 12th of May, Elon Musk revealed that Tesla had "suspended vehicle purchases using Bitcoin." What was their reasoning? Concern about the "use of fossil fuels for Bitcoin mining and transactions." Many were quick to point out in replies to Musk that miners often use renewable energy sources for their farms, as well as mentioning how the production of cars and launching of rockets is just as harmful to the environment, if not more. In later tweets, Musk mentioned working with Doge developers to "improve system transaction efficiency," potentially hinting towards a future where people can buy a Tesla with Dogecoin. >>Source

Glad to see this edition release. I know there was a move to blogs but it just doesn’t feel right. No one knows about them let alone how to get to them. I think the move was a little premature.
