How to Customize Your Profile

Below is a guide for those who may need some additional help getting your profile set up just the way you want it! Let's take a deep dive into how to properly customize your profile, where to find graphics to use, and some other helpful resources to help you stand out as you embark on your HF journey!

1. How to Navigate to Profile Customization

Head to the 3 bars on the top left corner of the site and hit the drop down and click on Account



2. How to Change Your Username



On the left side of the site, click "Change Username"
Here you can either choose an anonymous username that will start with SIM (Secret Identity Number), or you can choose to customize your username.




3. How to Change Your Banner

First off - What is a banner?
Your banner appears at the top of your member profile page. See below



How to change it -
In the same account edit section of the site where you found edit username, scroll down and select "Change Banner"



Select file, and upload.

Remember:
Optimal banner size is 1525x200 pixels.
Smaller images are also accepted but larger images will be resized.
Banners cannot exceed 1.5 MB in file size.


4. How to Change Your Avatar

First off - What is an avatar?
An avatar is a small identifying image shown under the author's name whenever they make a post. See mine below



How to change it -
In the same account edit section of the site where you found edit username, scroll down and select "Change Avatar"



Select file, and upload.

Remember:
The maximum dimensions for avatars are: 120x150 pixels.
The maximum file size for avatars is 100 KB.


5. How to Change Your Signature

First off - What is a signature?
A signature is a message or image that will appear at the bottom of all of your posts. See mine below



In this case, I have both text, a link within the text, as well as a linked image in my signature.

How to change it -
In the same account edit section of the site where you found edit username, scroll down and select "Change Signature"



Here you can enter a short message which will be automatically appended to the bottom of your posts.


6. How to Change Your Custom User Title

First off - What is a User Title?
A custom user title is the text below your avatar that will overwrite the default text assigned to your display group. See mine below



In this case, mine says "Above All Expectations"

How to change it -
In the same account edit section of the site where you found edit username, select "Edit Profile"



Then you'll see the Custom User Title section, where you can make changes there.
