What is microdosing?
Microdosing psychedelics is basically taking a small amount, about 1/10 of a normal dose. It is a practice that has recently drawn huge scientific and media attention for it's potential positive effects on the psyche. Many users report a variety of positive effects on their mental and physical health after a microdosing cycle, which include increased creativity, increased mood, increased social skills, lower levels of anxiety, better concentration and overall or more positive outlook on life.
Is it safe for ME to microdose?
Every person's experience will vary. However, if you have no history of mental health diseases such as schizophrenia, no severe cardiovascular diseases and do not take any anti-depressants, you should be good to go. Please note that this thread will be brief and capturing only the most important things, so do some more research before you decide whether it is for you.
What can I expect?
You are not supposed to 'feel' the effects of a microdose. It is a VERY subtle feeling, if we can even call it a feeling. You won't FEEL it, but you will notice a positive change in your thinking. For example if you go on a walk in nature, it will feel more therapeutic, you will appreciate the little things more, like sparkles in the water, flowers, the wind hitting your face. You won't be bothered by some small things, such as traffic, someone walking slow in front of you etc. You will be able to focus better and finish tasks without getting distracted. So basically, you won't feel the effects, but you will rather not feel the effects of anxiety and stress. Whenever I microdose I am in a super zen mood for the whole day. And yes, you can normally function and go on with your day like you would normally.
Side effects may include dizziness, sleepiness, confusion and anxiety, but it normally goes away after an hour.
Take note that not everyone will experience this the same way. It may take you only one time to get in this state of mind, or it will take you 2 weeks of microdosing, or it can even end up not being for you.
How do I microdose?
As I said earlier, a microdose is typically a 1/10 of a normal dose.
So for mushrooms that will be 0.1g-0.3g. Don't eyeball your dose or you might end up in a full trip. Always use a precise scale.
For LSD, you should take a tab of your acid and dissolve it in 100ml of distilled water and let it sit there for 12-24 hours. After that, 10ml = 1/10 of a tab, or 10-15 micrograms. You can also use vodka instead of distilled water. Please measure carefully.
You should aim to take the microdose in the morning or early afternoon so it doesn't disrupt your sleep at night.
Do not microdose everyday. I've found that microdosing every 2nd or 3rd day is most effective, and then you should take a pause after a month and journal the changes you've noticed.
My personal experience
I have yet to microdose mushrooms, but I have gone through a few cycles of microdosing LSD. They lasted a couple of weeks before I took a pause of a few months. I have microdosed every 2nd or 3rd day. The most noticeable change for me was my increased focus and decreased irritability. I could actually sit through some boring tasks and do them without checking my phone, and I did not get angry when things didn't go my way. I felt like my brain was always in a nice flow state. On my days off, I could still feel the positive effects, but less noticeable. After stopping and taking a pause, I would journal some lessons and tips and try to follow them while I'm not microdosing, and it always helped!
Once again I am saying that everyone's experience will be different and you should do extensive research and perhaps read other people's experiences on reddit.
If you have any questions regarding this, please send me a convo! Enjoy!
