Today I was reading an old thread, someone was looking for a way to make money urgently and one of the responses go something like
Quote:We are not here to make money in short term. Most of these, if not all, money making methods require a clear brain to apply.
and that really got me thinking the entire day.
Let's make things clear here first, I am not saying to use the state of your mind as an excuse not to strive for improving your financial situation. This thread will be about how you need to sort out some underlying issues first and prioritize your mental health, before trying any long term money making methods. If you are something like me in the past, you have built up a lot of bad habits over the months or even years, and you will find yourself in a place where you absolutely need to make more money fast, but due to the bad lifestyle you've had for a while, it's almost impossible to focus and learn things effectively, yet alone build something that will make you money in the long term.
Poor mental health can affect your focus, productivity, decision-making, cortisol levels and more. If you are ignoring all the warning signs that your body is giving you, and still keep trying to ONLY focus on money, you will keep hitting a brick wall, which will just lead to more frustration, making you feel like a failure and you will be stuck in this vicious cycle. It's better to have a stable job for some time and use all your free time for improving your mental health, than it is to have a job and try going into other business ventures, leaving you no time for yourself. Or have no job at all and try to make a living off of online money making methods, which I have done. While this is okay for someone with good mental health and a strong mindset, if you have brought yourself into a mentally bad place, chasing money and neglecting your health is not going to work out. It will lead to burn-out, anger, aggression and even to urges to use alcohol and drugs to escape reality.
Write down what is bothering you. Write down things that make you happy. Write down what could you do everyday that will have a positive impact on your mental health. Then execute it. Spending time in nature, meditation, exercise, journaling, and a healthy diet can be life-changing! Put away the ''I need to get rich ASAP, I need to escape the matrix or I will fail in life'' mindset. Fix your mental health first before chasing money. I have explained what will happen if you don't.
Another personal example that I'd like to share with you. I have made lots of easy money online at a young age by eWhoring. This was years ago. It was really easy money, it took almost no time, money was flowing into my account everyday. Sounds fun? Right. And it was fun. I could afford a lot of things I never would without eWhoring. Clothes, gifts for family, friends, my ex. Trips. My first car. I don't regret it though. It had it's pros and cons.
But now after several years, I can see why that was a bad thing to do. Once again, I don't blame myself for it, I didn't know any better, but if I can help one person who's reading this, I am happy and content. Why was it a bad thing? Well I made 5x the regular wage in my country working only a few hours, sometimes just an hour a day. And it was at a young age, and it made me lazy after a few years when my method died and I stopped. I had a hard time adjusting to my first job, and I was always miserable at work. It was easy, short term money. I didn't invest any of it sadly. I spent 3 years at a job I hated, and in my free time I was trying to revive my old, by then saturated method. I prioritized financial gain over my mental health. Even though back then I was way better in terms of mental health, I noticed it start to decline. I didn't put it any effort into learning new things because I got used to the lazy money. Money back then was easy come - easy go. No money made short-term and easily will last you long term. Learn from my mistakes.
Another negative effect eWhoring has had on me is that it negatively affected my sex life. If you spend time online pretending to be a girl, talking to horny men, it can lead to consuming more porn, and that combination can be devastating if you let it. E-W is good short-term, yes you can make a quick buck off it, but I would suggest not doing it long-term. OnlyFans management is a different kind of beast, it can be a long term business plan, and if you pull it off correctly, you can have people working for you and a great business model.
That's it. I wanted to get this off my chest and help people. Please learn from my mistakes, I have spent months, maybe even a few years, neglecting my mental health and the importance of good habits, while chasing money. What good does it do if you are not right in the head? I'm all for grinding and hard work, but some things are more important and should be taken care of before chasing financial gain. Thank you for reading and don't hesitate to reach out if you need to talk.
