Some carreer advice

Have you ever felt like you're not living up to your full potential when you're at work? Have you ever felt like you could be doing more than you're currently doing or like management is holding you back? This just might be the blog for you.

I'd like to give you my 2 cents in regards to this issue. Noted, this feeling that you can achieve more, occurs in pretty much every job. The thing that's important to realize is how frequently you feel like that. If it's something you feel every day, there's a high probability that there's some truth in it. If it's something you feel once every blue moon, it's probably because there's just less work at the moment which isn't a bad thing, all things considered. This might be the perfect time to take it easy.

However, If you're the type of person who feels like that every single day, it is probably time to consider switching jobs. It's never easy, but it's better to be happy doing what you do every single day instead of feeling like you're staggering in the job. Not only will this be difficult if you've never done this before, it's also a bit of a challenge to get out of your comfort zone because looking for a new job is never easy.

Regardless, your future self will thank you. Switching jobs can be very beneficial to you because you might be exposed to new things that you would have otherwise not seen or heard of. Not only that, there might also be some opportunities that offer more money for the position you're looking for. This is also an excellent time to gain some experience and become better at your job.

Remember those old family cartoons and sketches in which the dad comes home and just needs to relax because he's had such a tedious day at work? Don't be like that guy. Be the guy that WANTS to go to work. Be the guy that feels happy after the day is over. If this means you'll have to go through a difficult transition period, don't be afraid. You owe it to yourself to try and be happy about the things you do.

I've personally never regretted the decision, but then again, you might end up in a hostile work environment in which case I would highly suggest you to once again look for better opportunities. That's the beauty of life, there's always opportunities, and if you think there aren't any, why not create the opportunity yourself, instead of waiting for the magical 'fate' to take you to wonderland?

So, what are your thoughts on the matter? Feel free to let me know!

I've worked at my current job for almost 2 years and this last year I get that feeling more and more each day. I told myself when the new year start's I'd start seriously applying, so we'll see where that goes.
