Hey, It's Fortunate again. Welcome to my Steam Safe Account Trading Guide. In this blog post, I will teach you how to buy, trade and sell Steam accounts safely. I have sold, traded and bought hundreds of Steam accounts here on Hack Forums. Although most of my deals have been successful, I have yet discovered my bought account to be recovered after a few days. Since I was tricked, I have began to have caution when dealing with Steam accounts. Today, I'm looking to share them with you in this wonderfull guide. This includes account recovery, safety cautions and other details that you probably do not know about how Steam works. Without further ado, let's jump in.
Why would you trade, sell or buy Steam accounts?
There's a small chance you don't know what Steam is if you're reading this, but Steam is a platform where you can purchase and play games. Steam has a strong community built around it and its games. The most used community feature includes the steam community market, which allows some tradeable Steam items to have real life value. Some reasons why you would purchase a steam account would be:
1. Account with achievements/rank in another game
- Most accounts I sell are accounts that I have played CSGO with. There's a higher demand for prime-status accounts with a higher rank and convincing amount of hours. Cheaters usually purchase these accounts, or in the case your own got banned.
2. OG Steam Community URL
- Like many other websites, Steam has its own OG-url community that allows you to have rare url's. This is an example as an OG url: https://steamcommunity.com/id/god ... I haven't been really keen on url trading, but I know a lot of people do it. I have seen some of these urls go for up to $500.
3. Steam account age/level
- Steam has a profile page where your account age is shown. The higher the years on Steam, the more exclusive you are. The steam community also introduces a trading card feature, allowing you to level up your steam profile. One of the most users with the highest levels is St4ck, who had reportedly spent over $400,000 on Steam levels. There's a reason why would someone want these high level exclusive accounts, to either look like a legit account, or just to flex on their mates.
4. Trade banned accounts
- Steam gives scammers trade bans, that does not allow them to trade or sell their items further, meaning that the account loses its most value. These accounts are then sold, allowing you to still have the items in-game and show off. In games like CSGO, trade banned accounts are the usual. There are CSGO inventories with over $200,000 in in-game items just sitting in the inventory. This is because steam has been banning gambling bots rapidly, since the big market around these kinds of accounts.
5. VAC/game banned accounts
- If you cheat in a game, there's a chance you get banned. But in most cases, you are able to sell these useless accounts afterwards for some pocket cash. These accounts are usually purchased for steam group, comment or like boosting, since they have the rights to do so, since you have at least spent 5€ on Steam.
Securing your purchased account
- There are many ways to secure your purchased account. I will show you a quick method to avoid email recovery, but before that you always must check a few things before purchase.
While purchasing an account, look out for these:
Is a mobile phone connected to the account?
- If a mobile phone is connected, there's a high chance that your new account gets recovered. Be sure to ask the seller to remove it immediately.
Are there any payment methods connected?
- Check the payment history for Paypal, credit card or for other payment methods. If the seller were to contact steam support for recovery, he would get back instant access with old payment details. Safe payment methods are gift cards and paysafecard.
What is the email of the account?
- Is the account email original, or is it a new one? If you're presented with an original email, make sure it has the correct email from the date the account was registered. I've seen some people have their "original" emails, even though they had no way to prove it. Make sure to chance the accounts email before you change the password. This saves you both (buyer and seller) time, since you have to give out a code if the email hasn't been given to you.
Is the account banned/trade banned/community banned?
- Make sure to check if the acccount is banned in any category. You can check details here: https://steamrep.com/
If the account is banned, there's a high chance you have restricted permissions.
How to bypass email recovery
- With this simple method, you should be able to bypass the email recovery link, which can immediately lock you out of your account. It can take a little time but it is worth it.
Requirements: Another email account to use that is fully secure.
1. Firstly, change the email of the account to your first email. DO NOT CHANGE THE PASSWORD YET. This is very important to remember.
2. Now change the email of the account to your second email, if you don’t have one yet, now is the time to create one.
3. After you're done, go to your second email account. Head to the inbox of the first email and click the recovery link.

4. After clicking the recovery link you will get into this page, where you need to click on: “I don't have access to any of the recovery methods shown above” to lock the account.

7. Click "Unlock my account" and "Login and unlock my account" to finally unlock your account. You need to login with the password that the seller/trader gave you. Remember NOT TO CHANGE THE PASSWORD before doing this method.

8. After you're done logging in, enter the code you saved from the fifth step and click "Unlock my account". You have now sabotaged the traders recovery link! He can still recover it through steam support but it's not going to be easy.
Maintaining Anonymity
Maintaining anonymity is always important, no matter if you're dealing with Steam accounts or not. Here's a few tips you have to keep in mind when trading Steam accounts.
1. Steam logs log-in IP-adresses
- Steam logs IP-adresses when logging in. If you're buying an account, make sure to use a VPN or a proxy. The seller will get an email with your IP-adress on it.
2. Make sure not to use personal emails
- If you're selling or buying accounts, I suggest not to use personal emails. Use fresh email accounts that are secure! There's a lot of information you can gather with just an email.
3. Secure your account with Steam Guard
- Adding your mobile number to the account is a key to securing your account. You can use your personal mobile number, but make sure it's only on 1 account at a time. If you have game bans on an account that had your phone number in, your new account will also get a game ban. Look out for that. There are also trusted Steam verification service online. Just make sure your email and mobile steam guard is on!
5. Clean up your profile and friend list
- If you're looking to sell an account, make sure to clean up your profile and friend list. Be sure to check your steam groups as well for any clues. Make sure there are no old chat logs or anything that might reveal your identity, including payment details!
That's it for my guide to safe steam account trading! Let me know what you think in the comments down below.
