HF Tools Release
Finally, Omniscient has implemented the idea which he proposed last year. HF Tools got released with the name of Hacker Tools. You can access them from the top menu. Feel free to explore. >>Source

MyAwards Upgraded to Sprites
Hack Forums currently has 110 awards as you can see here. These awards are individual images and load one by one on threads, profiles and other pages. A sprite is a single file containing all the images and CSS is added to define which X, Y area is which award. Essentially, having the 110 awards all in a sprite will improve SEO and reduce page load. It's a beneficial performance boost now that your browser will load 1 file instead of up to 110 files. >>Source

Study Finds Gun-Related Suicide Rates are Higher in the US Than we Think
A coalition of researchers from major universities around the country has come together to crunch the numbers on this. They have found that gun-related suicides are actually much higher than gun-related homicides. Erin Morgan, lead author on the paper, had to say "Knowing that the presence of a firearm increases the risk for suicide, and that firearm suicide is substantially more common than firearm homicide, may lead people to think twice about whether or not firearm ownership and their storage practices are really the safest options for them and their household." The researchers also place part of the blame on this misconception on the way media is structured.  >>Source

More Progress Made on a Universal Flu Vaccine
As with things like this, the solution was found in a fairly unlikely place. It has always been a struggle for us to keep up with the ever-mutating flu virus, with alterations needed each year to maintain effectiveness. Hopefully, that won't be necessary for too much longer. A researcher at the Scripps Research Institute found that they could manufacture something to fight off the flu using antibodies from a llama. It isn't technically classified as a vaccine, but it accomplishes the same thing. >>Source

Jerusalem toddler dies of measles – first incident in 15 years
It has been 15 years since a similar case been reported in Jerusalem, where a toddler has died of measles. According to officials from Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem’s capital, the infant was not vaccinated for this violent and contagious disease. Speculation has risen, believing that the young girl could have contracted the disease from one of her parents, both of whom were not vaccinated and diagnosed with measles. The girl’s death comes amid the growing refusal to vaccinate their children, directly due to various health claims, such as the vaccination being linked to the development of autism and so on, all of which have been discredited and unproven. “The toddler belonged to an ultra-Orthodox family from the radical Neturei Karta sect in Jerusalem’s Mea Shearim neighborhood. The Neturei Karta are radical anti-Zionists, and refuse to be served by many state services, including health services such as the national early-childhood vaccination program.”

Measles has made an apparent and virulent return this year in Israel. The largest ever – 753 recorded infections as of 3 November 2018. The know infections have been “recorded in Jerusalem’s ultra-Orthodox community due to a refusal by some radical segments of the community to be vaccinated.” Following this ranked second, is the ultra-Orthodox community in Safed, who have 213 recorded cases of the disease reported. “Moshe Bar Siman-Tov, the director-general of the Health Ministry, urged parents on Thursday to ‘go and get vaccinated. That’s the most important thing you can do to protect yourself from this contagious disease.’” Despite religion, all children and adults should absolutely be treated for measles. Adults are more capable of fighting the disease because of their developed immune system, but children have no chance. There has been no proven correlation that the life-saving vaccination is dangerous. Please save yourself, your children, and most importantly, the future. >>Source

Nokia2mon2 allegedly oversaw slaying of Khashoggi, and spied on dissidents
In early October, “security researchers revealed that the Saudi Arabian government tried to hack a prominent Saudi dissident and human rights worker who lives in Canada.” This came just weeks after Amnesty International alleged Saudi Arabia of using advanced spyware to keep tabs on and hack one of its researchers. Afterward, the New York Times uncovered that the country turned a then-Twitter employee into a spy that assisted in the management of gathering intel on “digital rights activists by accessing their accounts and private messages.” Saudi Arabia has skyrocketed in terms of cyberwarfare contenders. A large portion of what the country does online goes undiscovered, but their involvement with spyware is becoming ever so exposed. “The regime has long focused on surveillance; the country bought hacking tools from Italian spyware vendor Hacking Team.” In 2015, the team was hacked, and numerous emails were released to the public linking the Italian group and Saudi Arabia.

The emails also released the name of one “Saudi government advisor named Saud Al-Qahtani served as the kingdom’s primary point of contact with Hacking Team.” The same Al-Qahtani allegedly oversaw “the murder of Khashoggi via Skype.” Jumping back several years ago to when the Italian spyware group was hacked, Al-Qahtani’s email was released, although unknown of who owned [email protected], which was later linked to the Hack Forums account nokia2mon2. An insider from Hack Forums said Al-Qahtani had a Saudi Arabian address linked on the “PayPal account he used to make donations to the forum. The source said that some vendors on the forums at the time operated under the assumption that the user was working for the Saudi Arabian government.” The assumption that nokia had a skeptical side to be wary of was influenced by his large payouts for simple, cheap services. >>Source

Dark Ops allows the community of Hack Forums to submit their opinions publicly or anonymously, their choosing. No IPs, no tracking, no strings. Each week will be a new set of 3 topics you can voice your opinion on. At the very end, you may input your UID to be made public, otherwise you're a blackhat ghost.

To kickstart this section, here's the very first set of topics you can voice your own opinion on: https://hfnt.typeform.com/to/dHd2NV

Going forward, this section will contain the new link and the results of everyone's submissions. This is a new section so things may change a bit to improve the quality - stay tuned!
