Stop the Thread Editing Abuse!
Due to members junking old, unwanted threads, Omniscient removed the Junk feature a while back. With that being said, this left members unable to junk the threads that they possibly made when they first joined the website and are now embarrassing to look at. Everyone has those types of threads so do not try and hide that. With that being said, members have found a way to get around this Junk feature removal by just simply editing their threads. Members are editing them by changing the title to, "closed" or "junk" and removing the body (content) of the thread and replacing it with "Please junk this thread", "Please ignore this" and so much more. There is no way Omni would remove the editing feature because everyone needs to use it; everyone makes mistakes, however, members are getting banned for doing this. The staff team is doing a good job on cracking down those who are abusing the editing feature and are banning members for months. Heck, you may even get hit by a closed account by Omni who has been closing members for doing this. If you do not want to take this seriously, then take a look at the bans page if you are an Ub3r member. Be warned, Hack Forums.
No More Discussions in Weekly Reports
iHydra has changed the rule that allowed members to participate in discussions in the Weekly Reports thread. In the past, members were allowed to give their opinions and feedbacks on things reported. Times have changed because now iHydra is requiring members to stop doing that and ask that you please discuss things that were reported in our weekly edition threads instead. Absolutely no discussion posts will be tolerated and your post will be reported. In the past, staff members were told to ignore the reports, but now your post will be junked. >>Source

Tsundere: Hello and welcome to the 360 edition of the Hack Forums News. Today we have the user ScreemS with us today. Would you like to give any shout-outs before we begin? ScreemS: Big shout out to my man Makaveli the Ape
Tsundere: First off, congrats on becoming a leader of the group Influence. Do you mind sharing how that all went down? ScreemS: Thanks so much, I joined influence when the first recruitment thread went up and I started helping out around the group bringing new ideas to the tabel. After a while Makaveli asked me if I was interested in a position as an assistant leader, which I took with pride and honor. After doing more work for the group I was added as a leader on HF.
Tsundere: With groups constantly changing and new owners coming in and out, the purpose of groups change all the time. I don't mean disrespect asking this, but what would you describe Influence as? A group of members willing to assist the community of Hack Forums, a group to come together to share ideas in a private, respectable setting? What would you personally describe Influence as? ScreemS: Influence is a place for members to share their knowledge about subjects they specialise themselves in and work together to create projects that will influence the community in a positive way.
Tsundere: With that being said, is there anything you would like to change about the HF community itself? If you were Omni for a day, what is one thing you would like to do to, whether it be a silly thing or something beneficial. ScreemS: I would love to revive the VIP section for upgraded members. It used to be one big clusterfuck, but I think we can make something of it if we just behave, lol.
Tsundere: That was definitely a fun time back in the days. Did you ever participate in the Upgraded Members Lounges that went on? ScreemS: Yeah I used to roam around them a lot, I am not a big lounge poster myself, but I love reading through them haha
Tsundere: When speaking to older members I like to ask, "what makes you stay commited to HF?" As people grow older, their lives change. They get jobs, they meet new people, or they just lost interest in HF. A lot of the older members I once knew are all gone. Would you say that most of your friends are still active on the website or not? Also, what keeps you motivated to stay on Hack Forums? ScreemS: Most of the members that I used to hang around with back in the days are either banned, changed, or just left the forum. My commitment to HF comes from the feeling that it gives me. HF has always been a place where I can just read hour uppon hours of threads and not get bored. Especially now that I lead Influence I am more motivated than ever.
Tsundere: That's awesome to see that you are still interested in logging in everyday and participating in the community. Since joining in 2013, you've seen HF progress for the better or for the worse. What do you personally think is the correct answer? Do you believe all the work and changes Omniscient pushes out is for the better of Hack Forums, or unnecessary? ScreemS: Some of the changes that Omni made are awesome, and he is defenitely seeing the bigger picture when it comes to how the forum runs in the future. The only change that slightly bothered me was the rep kill removal, I always thought it was a way for members to be punished for what they did, but they would still be able to enjoy and read through the forum as they used to.
Tsundere: Personally, I've never had any bad experiences with Omni. But that's because I never quote him or contact him unless it's needed. You see people constantly sending him messages to kiss-butt, etc. That's just not me. Anyways, I understand talking about the past can be a little tiresome. So, what I'd like to ask you is do you have any current projects you are working on? Whether it be programming an application, doing graphic design. What's ScreemS up to these days. ScreemS: I have been very busy with Influence and making sure that it is moving in the right direction, besides that I started a new study in cinematography, so I have been focussing on VFX and Photography. I hope to open a Premiere Pro guide and helpdesk very soon :)
Tsundere: How long have you been into VFX and Photography? Would you say you spend most of your free time working on those things? ScreemS: I have been into Photography for a good 3 years now. VFX are more on the new side for me, I know my ways around Premiere Pro, but when it comes to After Effects and adding choppers and big explosions to things I still have lots to learn, lol. Most of my free time is spent working on edits for companies, or spending time playing guitar.
Tsundere: Have you ever done any edits for movies or even video games? For example, I suppose a Call of Duty montage. I know it sounds cliche as hell when you think of video game editing, but something along those lines. NEW MESSAGES ScreemS: Never done anything along the lines of video game edits, they have never bothered me that much. I mainly do wedding edits, shortfilms, or company commercials
Tsundere: Before we go, I have one last question to ask. For someone looking to get into VFX and photography, what advice would you give them when first starting out? NEW MESSAGES ScreemS: There is always one thing I say to everyone that wants to get into those kind of things, don't buy expensive shit, just keep going, and watch fuckloads of YouTube videos. These days YouTube videos can teach you so much it's incredible.

Those currently in Florida or have relatives there, you are in the people's prayers. It is not any new news about Hurricane Irma, but it is still taking its course in Florida. Thankfully, the Hurricane is slowing down with a speed of 70 MPH and is now only a tropical storm, but many houses have been destroyed and trees knocked down. Over 6 million people are currently in Florida with no power and many people are currently in shelters either out of state or in the state. Flood warnings are being sent out to those who have access to service on their phone and people are being advised to continue staying indoors. Over the weekend, 10 lives were lost on the island of Cuba due to Irma. Sadly, two of the 10 that passed from the Hurricane was on a bus when they were struck by debris from a falling building above them. Esports is on the rise in popularity. From being streamed on public television to all of the events hosted by major game companies, it is no surprise that Blizzard would be interested in purchasing their very own arena. Whether you like Bieber or not is completely up to you, but hearing something like this may either be a good thing or a bad thing. If you are a true Bieber hater, you are probably laughing at this, but if you are a Belieber then you are probably thinking many other things. Not too long ago, pop star Selena Gomez had her Instagram hacked. From that, information of other big celebrities was exposed, including nude images of her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. Things like emails and phone numbers of high-profile people were also obtained from this hack. Instagram states that the breach into Selena's account was due to a bug inside of the API. Since the hack, Instagram has said that the bug is now fixed and that no passwords of Instagram users were gathered. Surprisingly enough, the hacker had uploaded these nude photos of Bieber onto her feed, which if you were not familiar with her following over 125 million people had access to see Justin Bieber in the nude. After gaining access to her account, Selena had deleted the photos from her public profile. >>Source
Hackers Can Silently Control Siri, Alexa & Other Voice Assistants Using Ultrasound
How interesting would it be to control voice-controlled programs and applications, such as Siri by using ultrasound? As scary as that may sound, it is also a little interesting you have to say. This new tactic can now have your iPhone open malicious links, send unwanted text messages to your friends and maybe even play weird noises out of your Amazon Alexa. Given the title of "DolphinAttack", Siri, Alexa, or any other voice assistant applications or programs are affected by this "hack" by hearing commands in an ultrasound frequency. What makes this frightening is that humans cannot hear these commands, but the AI bots microphone can pick it up like you are blasting Metallica in through your ear pods. Imagine walking through the mall, about to ask Siri where the closest Starbucks is from your current location, and your data gets hacked without your knowledge! Other voice assistants were said, but they were never mentioned what could possibly be "hacked" by these ultrasound frequencies. Justin Liverman, 23, is not your ordinary young adult. What makes Liverman different than most teens in their 20's is the fact that most people around that age aren't harassing the head of the FBI and CIA. Liverman used the information he obtained on the two (John Brennan and James R. Clapper Jr.) by social engineering officials and employees of their respected companies. In addition, Liverman had used their private information to harass them and to wreak "havoc" on them. With cynical intentions, Justin had purchased a phone message bombing service to spam the phones of the victims. When Liverman was finally arrested, according to the attorney prosecuting him, he had over 20,000 victims information of those in the law enforcement database. >>Source

I don't care how bad of an idea it is. Likely I'd allow for editing where you'd only be able to add to the post and not edit existing content. It's just too fucked up when members edit their threads to remove the bulk of their content and it's not just every now and then. It's frequent. It's very frequent. It's bullshit.
I have low tolerance for bullshit and obviously removing junk wasn't enough. You'll all lose edit ability one day. That's nearly a guarantee because we have too many stupid fucking asshole morons still on HF.
