Hatsune Miku to Open for Lady Gaga

Many hardcore Hatsune Miku fans will be tossing and turning in bed tonight as Lady Gaga announced that Hatsune Miku will be opening for her. For many this is a good chance to see the popular Hatsune Miku live and I'm sure many will turn up just for her. Whether this is a clever marketing scheme or Lady Gaga is actually a vocaloid fan remains to be discussed, but either way this is a great push for both. Hatsune Miku will probably still be that 'weird thing from Japan' to many, but with this push she could really force her way into Western culture, similar to Psy, and make her mark!

Snow Miku Design Contest

On the topic of Hatsune Miku and her powerful influence, a new contest has opened for the creative type to design their very own Miku. The design has the potential to feature on thousands of figurines, Nendroids, plushes and more and is being sponsored by Good Smile Company and Piapro.

This years theme is "Plants (Grass, Flowers, and Trees) of Winter in Hokkaido" and will not only feature a costume design contest for Miku, but for her friend Yukine, too. The contest is already open and entries will be accepted until May 7th with winners announced on May 16th and will become the official Snow Miku 2015. If you feel you have what it takes, head over to Piapro's site here and get sketching!

Game Developer Gust Posts Mystery Video

The game developer Gust, which is most famous for it's Aletier series posted a strange video on Youtube entitled "ERROR 421" on Monday. 421 possible represents the date (April 21st) and the video recaps various scenes from the Ciel no Surge PS Vita game's interaction portions with series heroine Ion (voiced by Ai Kakuma).





In the blurry portion of the video, characters such as Castie (Inori Minase) and Neiaflask (Maaya Uchida) are shown for short moments and during the end of the video Ion says "The one who was late reaching the me who was only there for that period of time was you." Very creepy, more news to come when this riddle has been figured out!

Ping Pong's Yuasa Directs Adventure Time Episode

The staff and cast of Adventure Time announced at Wondercon Anaheim on Saturday that Masaaki Yuasa wrote, storyboarded, and directed the upcoming episode "Food Chain." Yuasa is now directing the television anime of Taiyo Matsumoto's Ping Pong manga and is obviously a man of many talents!

New information on Tales of Zestiria

Slowly but surely Namco Bandai appears to be leaking information about their new tales game every so often to keep the crowd interested. In that light they have revealed new info about Lailah, a new character in the series. Part of the Heaven clan she guards the holy sword, finding the protagonist and somehow got into a marriage contract with him. (Nisekoi fans :3)
Her attacks are long-ranged, as well as her artes.

Tales of Zestiria is set to release in 2015


Marvelous Entertainment joining the rhytmn-game popularity with IA/VT COLORFUL!

Inspired by the Project Diva game series Marvelous Entertainment throws their own game into the rhytmn, namely IA/VT COLORFUL. Set to release for Juli 31 this year, the game uses the renowed vocaloid engine to bring a vocaloid besides Miku unto the gaming screen. namely IA of course. A set of 35 tracks has been posted a while ago by Gematsu who announced that the game with have a complete collection of 60 songs when it is finished. Certainly something Vocaloid fans should be looking forward to.

Synopsis
The Shirakiin house's daughter, Shirakiin Ririchiyo, who has a complex about being unable to live independently and unprotected, feels the need to move out and live on her own under the condition of residing in the mansion named "Ayakashi Kan." In this mansion, only those who have cleared a very strict examination could reside in it, and for each resident, they are accompanied with one agent of the Secret Service (S.S.). Although Riricho has rejected the company of the S.S., while residing in the mansion she finds out that the agent dedicated to protecting her is actually the Fox Spirit.

Characters
Ririchiyo "Chiyo-tan, Riri-tan, Riricho" Shirakiin


The main character of the story, she currently resides in room #4 of the Ayakashi Kan and is the master of Miketsukami Soushi. Ririchiyo is constantly in distress about not being able to communicate with people properly and decided to move to the Ayakashi Kan in order to be alone. She later befriends Karuta and Watanuki who both attend the same school and live in the Ayakashi Kan. She is the first character in Japanese anime and manga to be classified as a tsunshun instead of tsundere because she gets depressed (shun) instead of getting modest (dere) after behaving in a conceited manner.

Soushi "Sou, Inu" Miketsukami

A nine tailed spirit fox, Soushi is also a mixed blood (youkai and human) like the other members of SS, but it is the most powerful one. Soushi usually is calm, polite and gentle to everyone, but has a soft spot for Riricho (his partner), he blindly obeys her like a "dog" and always tries to protect her above his own life.
He also serves Kagerou Shoukin.

My Opinion
This show was a real treat at some times. I really did like the main characters to an extent. The way they acted toward each other was slightly annoying at times but you get over it as the show progresses. This is one of the few shounen anime I actually loved. The development of the characters is good and doesn't seem bland at all. I also really enjoyed the mix of action and romance with a nice bit of comedy on the side.

Interview with Black Soul

Unknown: Hello Black Soul, how are you today?

Black Soul: I feel like shit. My family just died in a fire and I lost my life savings... jk I'm fine, Easter vacations get me out of my depressed mood. How are you?

Unknown: I'm doing fine, thanks for asking. Had a bad day at work though. But let's move on to the next question, what is your favorite anime and why is it your favorite anime?

Black Soul: My favorite anime? Most undoubtedly Steins;Gate... Or Hellsing Ultimate. Steins;Gate because it's very psychological, it makes you think about the meaning of life and has a unique atmosphere with charismatic characters. Hellsing Ultimate... Blood everywhere, badass characters and a dark era, I guess, kind of fits my personality. I can't decide between those, but I'd say Steins;Gate is objectively better than HU.
(I don't like Hellsing, it doesn't embody the manga as good as HU)

Unknown: Ah, I haven't watched any of the Hellsing series myself, but I did like Steins Gate. It was a unique experience and while it had its funny moments it still had moments in it that made you think about life. Next question: Tsundere's or Loli's?

Black Soul: Wow... that's a tough one. I'm a huge fan of tsunderes myself, but also of lolis... tough choice. Erh... if I must choose between one, I'd say tsundere. Then again, it depends on their stream of tsun and dere (which is kind of the same with all characters with some exceptions to some). Sometimes I hate tsunderes and sometimes I can't help but like them... a loli tsundere will always reign supreme though, you can't beat that.

Unknown: I know what you mean, I'm totally in love with Tsundere's but I also love loli's. If you had to choose one character, who would be the most epic anime character you've ever seen?

Black Soul: Alucard hands down. I really hate to be the fanboy here, but you can't defeat Alucard. First, he comes out as the faithful servant of the Hellsings, never questioning any of their orders and he has this complete devotion to his master. Then you see a darker side to him, immortality is actually a curse to him and he's always suffering. He easily gets outraged when people who he thinks could beat him can't actually do shit, thus he's a two-sided character. I'm a huge fan of vampires, and let's not forget that he's Spoiler (Click to View)Dracula... plus, you can't forget his levels of power (let's not forget the Nazi assault on London). Basically, in the end, he rightfully earns his immortality and is omnipresent. Does it get even more badass than that? I sound a little naive, but I just loved the concept of the character.

Unknown: That was a pretty detailed answer. I personally think Kotomine Kirei was pretty awesome in Fate/Zero. What do you think about the Anime Adventures section at the moment?

Black Soul: In my opinion, the AA is pretty dead right now. There's only the AA lounge which is interesting, putting aside beginner threads asking for new anime. I think there could be more to the section, like when the AA regulars did the secret santa thing. It could use more members too (yes I know that the "veterans" have a skype chat), but it would be nice to have more people to initiate to anime if they're interested, also more activities such as the AA weekly which is really bringing life back to the forum. In the end, I can't really blame anyone for the inactivity since not a lot of members want to post in the AA even though they watch anime and read manga...There should be something done about that. Forcing them to come on the AA isn't an option, however, maybe encouraging them to do so? To conclude, it's still a very nice section to come and post in, you can gain knowledge from other users and have a nice chat once in a while, and I admit that it's fun sometimes to see "newbies" posting (like the waifu thread... Really -.-)

Unknown: I see, whenever I find a new member that is interested in anime I refer them to the AA section. Thanks for your cooperation. This concludes the interview, do you have anything else to say?

This loli's cuteness scales with her gruesome past showing a high correlation. Her cuteness is something that has gotten her an insane fan base just because of the way she gets fascinated about every little things like school supplies and what not. Aside from that, I love the changes you guys have made. A gaming section is a nice addition, albeit the difference between the articles there and gaming-related headlines are a bit blurry to me.
