Zero Reason to Avoid Exersize
Among the top sleep researchers, the belief has been held that avoiding exercise in the evening would improve sleeping habits. However, that has been proven to not entirely be the case by researchers at the Institute of Human Movement Sciences and Sport at ETH Zurich. The team analyzed a plethora of prior studies on the subject and came to a conclusion that is most accurately summarized by the following quote “If doing sport in the evening has any effect on sleep quality at all, it’s rather a positive effect, albeit only a mild one,” >>Source

US-backed fighters in Syria capture final stronghold held by ISIS
Kurdish-led fighters capture ISIS’ last stronghold on Friday, nearly three months after nonstop warfare. The town Islamic State held, Hajin, was their main hub in the remaining “pocket of land” controlled by the extremist group in eastern Syria; they still hold smaller, closer nearby villages. The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have been fighting for the control of Hajin for the past three months. In recent weeks, offense on both ends has intensified with the arrival of reinforcements. “The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the SDF took Hajin early in the morning, after fierce fighting under the cover of airstrikes by the U.S.-led coalition. It said some ISIS fighters withdrew to the villages and that fighting is still going in the fields outside Hajin as SDF fighters chase the extremists.”

Activist Omar Abu Layla from Europe’s DeiEzzor 24 monitoring group confirmed that the US-backed fighters have successfully overtaken the key town, adding that some ISIS extremists are still trapped “in small pockets on the edge of Hajin.” It’s stated that the militants slayed over 900 ISIS fighters in the heroically ferocious capture of the group’s then-largest camp. Unfortunately, the victory did come at a price. Although the total amount of US soldiers killed in action has yet to been released, Abdel Rahman, head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said that approximately 500 SDF fights have been confirmed deceased as a result of the three-month battle between the jihadis. Rahman further stated that over 320 civilians were killed as well – many as a result of airstrikes led by the US coalition. >>Source >>Source

Over 1,000 institutions pledge to withdraw fossil fuel investments
On Friday, the news publishing agency Independent submitted an article on the withdrawal of investments on fossil fuel, stating that “Governments, universities and banks have quit fossil fuels in their hundreds after a global campaign to convince institutions to pull their investments.” Since the campaign to withdraw from fossil fuels has started, the total sum of money being withdrawn is approaching the $8 trillion mark. Pressure is being mounted on countries and businesses to eradicate fossil fuels entirely, where scientists warned it is the only way to avoid a global disaster caused by intense climate change within decades. Despite this, efforts to reach a mutual agreement amongst UN nations have stalled at the COP24 summit, where negotiators failed to reach an agreement on green finance.

While diplomats at the UN climate talks are stalled and have a hard time reaching a mutual compromise, large companies have not stalled; they are actively storing fossil fuels in the ground. Pledges to move from fossil fuels now spans across 37 countries, including major cities as well, such as New York, along with mainstream banks and insurance agencies. In July 2018, Ireland became the world’s first country to take a stand against fossil fuel and sell its components in the country’s $9 billion national investment fund. The campaigners, ranging from faith organizations such as the Quakers and the Church of England to insurance companies all agree on the mutual statement that their goal is to contribute to the weakening of the fossil fuel industry by initiating a call to action to the people that hurt our planet. >>Source

Tumblr porn ban now in full effect
Tumblr, once renowned for its lewd content, has finally put an end to sharing explicit images on the website. Whilst the site no longer allows this material, all existing posts are still accessible but hidden to all users unless they have a direct link to the images. The decision of the ban by Tumblr came last month when the Tumblr app was removed from the Apple App Store for illegal content. One week later, Tumblr announced the ban. New guidelines prohibit genitalia, sex acts and illustrations on the website and Tumblr have been said to have worked on an algorithm to stop anybody trying to pass their filter. Many users of the platform were left unhappy at Tumblr staff who say that their approach was simply too harsh and that they could have simply devoted more time on cracking down on illegal material. Many Tumblr users have now moved onto other platforms which raises the question of if this is the end of Tumblr's popularity. >>Source

Russia used Social Media to aid Trump's 2016 Presidential Campaign
According to The Washington Post, a report studied has revealed millions of social media posts on a variety of social media from Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and others in order to aid Donald Trump's 2016 US presidential campaign. It's clear from this report that social media has become a place for Russia to manipulate people on a mass scale, using thousands of fake accounts with messages about party conventions and presidential debates at key moments in the campaign. These posts made by Russians on social media were targeted at African American voters by spreading misinformation about Trump's opposing candidates. The report says Russia has a prime focus on targeting those with posts on immigration, race and gun rights. This concerning the use of social media has raised questions whether prime websites such as Facebook should review and censor certain posts about politics from Russian propaganda groups. >>Source

~Anonymous

TOPIC: What's your opinion on "lounge-heads"? Do you think they contribute in any way?

"Sure, they contribute to bytes farming and the overall forum engagement/statistics numbers. They certainly don't HURT hackforums in anyway... imo. If they wanna spend their time socializing and lounging away, then more power to them lol."
~Lavish Living

"That question could spark a quantity vs. quality debate. They provide a good amount of posts, but are they even worth reading?"
~Lukas

"I myself am a lounge head with over 5k posts in the lounge, we help keep activity up and create interesting and sometimes somewhat silly discussions. But without us HF would be a boring and dull place!"
~Dredd

TOPIC: What Bytes game/feature do you want to see next?

"Integrated bytes poker, or any player vs player game honestly (preferably one that can utilize skill and strategy rather than pure luck)."
~Lavish Living

"I would like to see a coin toss between users. I.E. I challenge another user to a 500 byte coin toss and it's fifty fifty I double my bytes or they do."
~Dredd

"N/L Texas Holdem. Achieves live scheduled engagement, something I think HF would benefit from."
~Dan.

Those setups are amazing as fuck.
Not a major issue but "Exersize" needs to be changed to "Exercise". Also, Tumblr does the "anti-porn" thing every few years it'll likely be forgotten about kind of like how the EULA with Mojang was.

I'd say their views will stick around with a more dominant presence this time, especially being that the main crackdown was over CP.

They likely just did this big switch because they didn't want to take responsibility. I guareantee they knew it was being hosted on their site but saw no reason to do anything about it until they were brought into the light.
