SRPP Threads and Posts By Omniscient
We have got an update on the change that was made a few months ago where Omniscient removed access for everyone to be able to see the posts made in the SSRP section. This week Omniscient has mentioned that they are very glad that they removed the section with the current events going on in the world right now. They feel this would have flooded the section and made things just worse for the site. They have officially junked around 36,000 threads and around 900,000 posts sadly. This has sadly affected some members post counts and thread counts, but was it the right thing to do?
Monetary Contests Rule By Omniscient
A new rule has been put in place for contests. Due to an increase within the member contests section of fake giveaways, everyone who is hosting a giveaway for any monetary amount will now need to send the amount Omniscient to hold until the end of the giveaway. This rule has been put in place to make sure that the giveaway is legit and should help the fake giveaways seen over the last few months. We have seen quite a few hosting the news each week and are glad to see this put in place to help combat the issue we were seeing far too much of. Let us know what you think about this new rule in the replies this week.
The Hack Forums Wiki Returns By Mix
The Hack Forums Wiki has returned. The site has been under some work recently as the site was sadly left with a load of issues and no one was running the official site. Thanks to everyone within the HF news team, the site is now under new leadership and, thanks to Omniscient allowing the team to start their work on this while maintaining the HF news, the site is back getting some lovely changes and getting updated daily to bring it back to a new modern day Wikipedia with a load of information for everyone to read up on.

▸ Stuff You Do That Feels Wrong (But Isnt!)
by R5N3T
A light thread with a strangely universal hook. R5N3T asks about those completely legal little moments that still trigger a weird sense of guilt - like walking out of a store empty-handed, using a bathroom without buying anything, or refusing to hand over personal details for some "promotion." The replies are casual, funny, and instantly relatable. One of those simple Lounge threads that works because everybody immediately has an answer of their own.
▸ Wtf, Perplexity Pro recommended I try to find legal LSD for Panic / Covid?
by Rsynced
A genuinely uncomfortable discussion about where AI advice can go off the rails. Rsynced shares an example of Perplexity surfacing drug-related suggestions in response to an anxiety and long-COVID-adjacent conversation, which quickly turns the thread into a wider discussion about memory, context bleed, academic-style outputs, and how badly recommendation systems can misread a vulnerable user. A strong reminder that "technically relevant" is not the same as responsible.
▸ Do you check your phone the moment you wake up?
by Omega Sapien
A familiar modern habit turned into a solid discussion thread. What starts as a simple question about checking your phone first thing in the morning opens into replies about work, doomscrolling, emails, self-control, and the weird dependency many people have developed on that first screen of the day. It is a small topic on the surface, but the responses quietly say a lot about how people live now.
▸ Tips to Deal with a Teen Whos Too Focused on Their Phone?
by R5N3T
A thread that feels more real than performative. R5N3T asks for advice about his 13-year-old daughter spending too much time on her phone, and the replies move beyond the usual "just take it away" line into hobbies, sports, gradual limits, device swaps, and understanding what the phone is actually being used for. There is humor in the Nokia suggestions, but also some genuinely thoughtful parenting advice underneath it all. A good example of HF dropping the memes for a minute and actually trying to help.
▸ Pronounceable Passphrase Generator
by Immortal
A clean little coding share with immediate practical value. Immortal presents a Python-based passphrase generator that aims to balance strong entropy with actual usability, producing passwords that are far easier to read and type than the usual random-character soup. The write-up is structured well, explains the logic clearly, and makes the tool feel accessible even to people who are not deep into security scripting. A neat reminder that good security tools do not have to sacrifice human usability to stay useful.

Hidden Sleep Debt in Your 30s
Many men in their 30s believe they function well on 5–6 hours of sleep, but chronic sleep debt quietly affects the body. Lack of sleep can increase stress hormones, weaken the immune system, and raise the risk of weight gain and heart disease. Over time, poor sleep can also impact memory, focus, and mood. Experts recommend 7–9 hours of consistent sleep per night, limiting caffeine late in the day, and keeping a regular sleep schedule. Prioritizing sleep in your 30s can protect both mental and physical health for decades.
Advice of the week
Protect your time.
Your time is your most valuable resource. Learn to say no to things that waste your energy or distract you from your goals. Focus on what truly matters — your health, your growth, and the people who add value to your life.
Quote of the week
“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.”
— Mark Twain
