Hatsune Miku x Pharrell Williams

It seems Hatsune Miku, the famous Vocaloid, has been collaborating with everyone recently and has just announced that she will be opening for Lady Gaga, but now she's released a song with Pharrell Williams. Williams has just done a remix of "Last Night, Good Night (Re:Dialed)" a Hatsune Miku song originally produced by livetune's kz, and later was used as the theme song to Jellyfish Eye's a debut feature film by renowned artists Takashi Murkami. In return for Williams remix, Murkami created the video to the song "Last Night, Good Night (Re:Dialed)," which sees Williams recreated as an anime character with his famous hat.

Dirty Message in Attack on Titan Manga

This week, fans of Attack on Titan were left disappointed/rolling on the floor laughing at the "unintentional" message left in the Attack on Titan manga. During the scene there is supposedly, gibberish katakana characters, but when the image is flipped it leaves a crude message.

Isayama said that the text was "unintentionally added and bears no relevance to the story". Still he accepted the mistake in not noticing it in Editing and apologizes to all his fans he has left saddened by this. He has ensured anything like this will not happen again and will devote himself to making the manga better.

Currently, the editor for the manga has also apologized and has explained that an assistant had written the message without the editor or Isayama noticing. Here is the "crude" text for those that are wondering, for us at AA, this is a usual Monday:

Kadokawa Recalls Manga Designated "Unhealthy" by Tokyo

Publisher Kadokawa issued a "voluntary recall" for its Imōto Paradise! 2 manga after Tokyo Metropolitan Government designated the volune as "unhealthy publication" under the revised Young Healthy Development Ordinance due to its "glorification of incestuous acts." The published noted it is working on figuring out a way to move on with the volumes publication and has yet to decide if it wishes to protests the governments decision.

As a result of the decision by Tokyo Metropolitan Goverment, bookstores are prohibited from selling the book to anyone under the age of 18 years old, or allowing them to browse the book. Bookstores must separate the book and move it into an "adult only section". Kadokawa has instead offered to recall the books to stop any confusion for the stores. The manga has also been recalled from the Kindle store.

Synopsis

In present times, Gods and Demons coexist together with humans after the door between each of these worlds had opened. Tsuchimi Rin is a normal young high school student attending Verbena Academy who spends his days living peacefully with his childhood friend Kaede. Unexpectedly, one day the King of Gods, the King of Demons, and their families move in to be Rin's next door neighbors. Apparently the daughter of the Gods, Sia, and the daughter of the demons, Nerine, are both deeply in love with Rin after having met him in the past. Along with his playful friendship with upperclassmen Asa, and his encounter with the silent but cute Primula, Rin has much on his hands dealing with the affections of each of these girls. Based on the eroge by Navel.

Characters

Rin Tsuchimi
Rin Tsuchimi is a seventeen year-old high school student and the male protagonist in the series. In the game, Rin is the role that the player assumes. As noted by Kaede, Rin's main virtue is his kindness. This is both his greatest strength, as the girls love him because of this, and his greatest weakness, as shown later in the series by his indecisiveness and goal to make everyone happy, which usually ends up hurting them instead.

Kaede Fuyou
Kaede Fuyou is Rin's beautiful childhood friend who grew up with him in the same house after her mother and Rin's parents died in a car accident. Some time after they started junior high school, Kaede started taking care of Rin, everything from housework to making him his meals.

Asa "A-Chan" Shigure
Asa Shigure is Rin's friend and senpai. While she has a weak constitution, she makes up for it with her energetic personality. Despite being a touch of a tomboy, she is an excellent cook. She uses English loan words often and is notable for her "Hello!" greeting which is her catchphrase.

My Opinion
So when I decided to watch Shuffle I thought it was going to be just another generic harem with a little supernatural aspect that was meh. I was a little right. It's a harem. But I was wrong in so many ways. It starts sorta generic but the sheer twists and turns keep it so interesting. Also, the way they incorporate the supernatural aspect without watering down the story was magnificent. Literally the best thing about Shuffle was the twists in the story. Made it worth watching and made me stay interested. The character dynamic and development were also top notch. Which you cant ask for more of in a harem. No one character really has a lead in the "choice" based on development which is great because it keeps you from truly knowing who he picks at the end. But there is one thing over all others that truly makes me happy about this series: it's 24 episodes. There is a lot of story and development because of this and it contains minimal fillers. Overall, I would %100 watch this show. If romance isn't your cup of tea I probably wouldn't recommend it to you but if you have ever enjoyed a romance and are open minded on what you watch, give this a watch.

My Rating 8/10

Synopsis

Yuu Kamishiro is a lonely highschool kid, driven to isolation by the abuse of his peers. Tired of getting beaten on day after day, Kamishiro starts practicing punches from a boxing guide. With his new knowledge, he takes to the streets, hoping to find a place for himself in the gang violence of Tokyo at night. His fighting skills progress and he begins to find his first friends, and with them a place to protect, his own Holyland.

My Opinion

Holyland is one of my favorite coming-of-age manga, and a big stepping stone when it comes to the martial arts genre. Truly one of it's kind, Holyland treads a fine line between seinen storytelling and shounen-esque battle progression, and does so marvelously. Furthermore, it tries to pass itself off as an educational piece; the author obviously did a lot of research before writing this, as he spews out mountains knowledge on martial arts in the form of drawings and dialogue expanding upon the finest of details. Speaking of drawings, the art is clean and beautiful, nicely depicting the speed and adrenaline of each fight. The anatomy of characters is correct, and fights are very detailed, often becoming painfully bloody and "realistic," I daresay. Holyland shines the most when it comes to it's development, both story and character-wise. While it starts off a little repetitive, don't be discouraged. It spices up the further you read, and has one of the best ending a manga could wish for.

My Rating 8.5/10

Interview with Happeh

Unknown: Hi Happeh, how are you today?

Happeh: I'm doing pretty well, thank you. How are you?

Unknown: I'm doing fine. Had a pretty busy day though. Thanks for asking, first question: What is your favorite anime, and why?

Happeh: Oh, starting with the tough questions at the start. It's hard to choose and has changed over the times: starting with Chobits, moving to Toradora and Ano De Matteru. Right now it has to be Nichijou for the pure comedy in it. Some of the funniest stuff I've seen in anime.

Unknown: Hmm interesting. My ex gf told me to watch Chobits, I never finished it though.
How do you feel about running the AA Weekly?

Happeh: It is a great anime - one of those classic romances. It was the anime that got me hooked on the romance genre.
I feel great, I'm enjoying the new challenege and the fun that comes along with it. Hearing peoples feedback and talking to everyone is great. I also enjoy the people I work with as its all a lot of fun to talk to everyone. ^^

Unknown: When you thought about restarting the AA Weekly, did you picture it would turn out how it is now? Do you think it has improved?

Happeh: No, I never imagined we would get to this level. I started it again expecting little interest and it would just be me slaving away at a computer and it still is, but I have friends who help me now. I think AA Weekly has improved massively, it's more diverse now but still fun to read. We have more team members who really push to make things the best as possible and I think it really shows in the quality and the feedback it has had.

Unknown: Great, I also think it's interesting, and I love working on it.
What do you think about the current AA section?

Happeh: I think many things of it right now, being an old member I'm like one of those old grandads in a retirement home going "things were much better back in the day!" To be honest, it's not the worst it's been , nor is it the best, it just needs a real boost and drive and I try to do that myself as much as possible.

The best way I keep describing it as is it is like a Town of people right now. Everyone keeps their head down and each person has that small group of friends; I feel before it was like a village, everyone knew everyone and it was always a laugh. The village would group together on projects, help each other out and have a laugh. I want it to be like a village again.

Unknown: I agree with most of it. Right now, it's pretty much the AA lounge, AA Weekly, and the "recommend me an anime" threads. The sad part about this section is that everyone comes and goes sometime. Hysteria or whatever his name is, was pretty active, but I haven't seen him for some time again. There are the active members that stay for long periods, or have been in the section for as long as I can remember, but there aren't much of them.
Anyhow, next question: What's your favorite vocaloid song?

Happeh: Yeah Hysteria is a great member and I've always been friends with him. Being on HF for over four years I've seen many people leave and some of my best friends just vanish, even now not many people remain and Tas is slowly disappearing so it sucks, but its not a reason to be depressed. What we need now is other personalities, members to stand up and take over, become those shining beacons. That's what we're missing.

I don't really listen to vocaloid, but I really like the song "Hello/How are you" which was originally a vocaloid song by Hatsune Miku. Just so much emotion in the song and its a cute to listen too. Reminds me of a personal situation with an old friend of mine so it has a personal touch too:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvrCBHmsTG8

Unknown: Interesting. I don't know Hysteria that well but he was a good member in my opinion.
I have heard of the song but never listened to it, I'll listen to it tomorrow because I'd wake the neighbors up now.
Do you prefer anime over manga or vice versa, and why?

Happeh: I prefer anime more as a media, only because it's more available. Here in the UK its harder to get physical copies of manga, where-as anime is quickly available on my phone via Crunchyroll. I like being able to picking up and feel a book, so it puts me off reading on a screen. The only manga I keep up with is Nichijou because its my favourite.

Unknown: Ah, I understand. I like anime more most of the time, whenever I read manga I put on anime soundtracks to feel it more, without them, I don't feel much. I do have some physical manga, I'm amazed a girl from my class has all the Death Note manga volumes. What's your opinion about the 4 most mainstream anime: Naruto, Bleach, One Piece and Fairy Tale?

Happeh: I think each just go on a little bit too long. There's too much filler and not enough development. I like a full fleshed out story, not something that's long winded. I watched the first 100 episodes of Bleach hoping both the main characters would fall for each other, or have something develop, nothing. That's why I got into romance, there's a clear end and a happy one at that.

Unknown: I finished Bleach on a vacation when I had nothing better to do, the only thing I liked were the OST's. Thank you for your time, do you have anything you want to say to our readers?

Happeh: Thank you very much for having me! I want to say: be yourselves, don't grow up, grow out. Do what you want to do and strive to do the best you can. Peace.

Note: This weeks loli of the week contains spoilers for No Game No Life.

What's 11 years old and smarter than you? Yes. Shiro. Shiro-chan. Shiro is the type of loli that all you people would want, intelligence beyond compare and is also a huge gamer. What makes her cute and stands out has to be her red eyes and white (pale blue) hair. Shiro is a typical NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training)/Hikikomori. That being said, she spends her days locked in a room with her step brother, gaming away. Her relationship with her step brother is somewhat cute. They are literally inseperable. Jealous yet? Are you jealous yet? Shiro isn't really aware of her feminine side, laying down in a way her panties can always been seen and what not. Such a care free life, eh? That being said.. she has a brother complex. That's right folks, Shiro has a brother complex for her step brother. Emphasis on the step brother. The cutest thing about Shiro-chan is that if her step brother gives other girls other than herself attention, she will start to show obvious signs of jealousy.

Series: No Game No Life, NGNL, ノーゲーム・ノーライフ

Every week, you can vote on a poll for your next loli of the week. This way we can vote and admire them together as well as seeing who the most popular is between the AA! For next week, you can vote for either:

Maria Takayama, from Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai
Nozomu Ezomori, from Kanokon.

Second issue I've read and I have to say I love it.
Everything is well organized and the information isn't all fluff.
Thanks to all who worked on this issue!
Another wonderful issue as always. Interesting read for the Happeh interview, I've known him for quite some time but really haven't had one of those deep conversations with him so it's nice to learn a bit more about him.

Haha, I don't really talk in depth to many members but I'm quite an open person, so just ask away if you want to know anything.

Congratulations on winning the contest btw! :)

Thank you for the kind words. Glad you enjoy the coolest news around. 😎
Your opinion of Shuffled! was pretty much spot on, that anime is total Harem but with good character development / romance / and atleast the MC was man enough to pick a girl. It had a tiny bit of emotions also.
That "unintentional" message was funny yet weird. What the hell was the assistant trying to accomplish from such a thing?

I thought the interview was interesting. It was pretty insightful to hear the opinions of an oldfag and how the AA section could improve.

Again guys, thanks for all your hard work and creating another great issue.

Thank you kind sir. Glad you enjoyed it and glad everything turned out good yet another week.🤝
The winner's Snow Miku design looks really nice. If they release a figure/nendoroid of her, I'll be sure to get it.
Also, after reading your opinion on Shuffle!, I've become much more interested in watching it.
That show was on my anime list for a while now.

As for this week's contest, I think I've gotten the answer after looking at my anime list.

I enjoyed reading this issue. 😁
As others said, thanks to all of the members who worked on this!

Guess you learn something new about Happeh every now and then, I always thought he was just a weird pervert. 😅
Ahem.

Nice issue as always bois.

How long has it been since I have been on the AA section and Hackforums in general. The AA news has developed quiet nicely keep up the amazing job Happeh and the whole AA news staff. If you need help over the summer feel free to contact me via HF PM or Skype PM.
Anagram? Nope, no clue what that means, even if you mention terrorists (manga ftw amirite?)

But Holyland is definitley my favorite martial art/coming of age manga, it's a great read and if you haven't read it you should. Plus it's seinen, and seinen > shoujo
When you gaze into the abyss the abyss too gazes into you.

CyberSec Ops || Rip Tay.AI
Vivere est cogitare; vivere militare est: Zantha Invicta

Another nice issue as usual. Probably need to watch/read the showcase stuff this week.

Also, that anagram is like impossibru to solve.
