Fans Take Part in Wedding Celebrations
So how often are you given the chance to take part in a celebrities wedding? It's not very often - now what about that celebrity you just really love, that would be a dream come true, right? Fans could participate in the wedding celebrations of Yuko Gibu, the voice actress known best for her role as Maon Sakurada in Tamayura. The event took place in Hiroshima and fans could pay to enter the event. Not only was Gibu there, but many other celebrities too, including others from Tamayura and members from the popular band Marble. The cake for the wedding was almost a whopping, 6ft x 2ft and people were welcome to take part in eating of the cake. After the wedding there was a bridal parade Gibu herself appeared clad in a traditional 12-layered kimono. In here speach she noted that she is "the happiest in the world" thanks to all who came, and that she looked forward to "many new and interesting things from here on."
Konami Nods It's Head To Metal Gear Fan Remake
In an odd turn of events, Konami have gave the thumbs-up to a fan remake of the popular game Metal Gear. Often these sort of things are "ceased and desist", mainly because the company who owns the intellectual property lose money, but Konami instead has green lit the project and things look good to go. This comes off of Konami showcasing the fifth game in the popular installment Metal Gear Solid at E3. The group plans to release the game as a mod of Alien Swarm, which is available through Steam and the group calls themselves "The Outer Heaven" - which itself is a popular reference to the games. You can keep up-to-date with the project through their own ModDB page here.
Hatsune Miku to Get Her Own Manga
As if Hatsune Miku is not dominating the market enough, KEI, the designers of Hatsune Miku have announced that she is to receive her own Project Diva manga series. COMPTIQ magazine announced that Hatsune Miku -Project Diva- Omnibus Comic manga series will be released in the following issue on July 10. Sega will be helping supervise the project, mainly because Sega are behind the Project Diva games that have been released on various platforms. This is all exciting news for any Miku fan and I'm sure there will be lots of scans available online soon!
Man Arrested for Dumping 500lbs of Potato Chips (Crisps to us British)
Hyogo Prefectual Police announced that they have arrested an office worker Kazuki Fukumoto (age 25) on Tuesday under the suspicion of unlawful dumping of potato chips in Kobe. The police reported that the suspect wanted to collect stamps to win concert tickets in Calbee's Nana Mizuki contest. Fukumoto told police that he bought the chips in large quantities and then was troubled what to do with them, so he "threw it away". There were over 89 boxes of chips found which equals to around 1,000 bags. The main question on everyone's mind was if he won, unfortunately the report says nothing about this, but I sure hope he did after buying that many chips.
Anime Fanboy has released an odd thread asking the question:

Sometimes daydreaming can get you into trouble, but what do you do when it's other people's dreams that you have to watch out for? Yumeji Fujiwara has the unique ability to predict what kind of dreams other people will have, but lately, his own dreams have taken a bizarre turn in which he's being pursued by armies of cats. Stranger yet, Yumeji learns that the leader of the dream cats needs his body to access the Real World.
Characters
Yumeji Fujiwara
He is a lazy, yet strong-willed and determined person with a heart of gold, who is always ready to help others. He is also a member of a writing club at his high school, and is a big fan of the superhero called Guricho. He meets Merry when she falls on top of him as he comes back from his errands, and together, they enter a daydream - basically, a dream that occurs in full daylight. He has firmly decided to help Merry to come back in the Dreamworld, even if she is not convinced at the beginning, but they soon end up becoming very good friends.
Merry "Yumekui" Nightmare
Merry is a girl from the Dreamworld searching for a door back home. Unlike the other dream demons coming into the human world, she doesn't need a vessel, instead she has a physical human-like body, she is stronger and faster than a normal human even in the real world.
She can't drink soda or eat spicy foods.
Yumi
A girl in Yumeji's class. She has contact to a being of the dream world, Serio. Her dream is to become a nurse.
My Opinion
Well, Yumekui Merry holds a pretty special place in my heart because it's the first anime I ever downloaded. I'm sentimental so it does mean something to me but anyway... This wasn't the best series for many reasons. The artwork was pretty shaky at times and at other times it was really good. Also, the characters, aside from the two mains, were just meh. Every character besides the two main characters are poorly made and just pretty boring. The main character, Merry, is very interesting however and almost carries the whole cast. As much as is possible. That all being said, I thought it was a pretty enjoyable. It's interesting and different. I would recommend watching it.

Synopsis
The story of the Voynich Hotel, its guests and staff and the southern island it's located on.
My Opinion
So here we are, with the first lesser-known manga in the highlights so far; The Voynich Hotel by Dowwman Sayman, the fabled creator of Zombie Highschool Girls. This manga is about an ex Yakuza on the run after making off with the syndicate's money. Oh wait, no it's about 3 female drug dealers growing stuff called Mercelo in their hotel room. No wait, it's about a homosexual hitman slaying drug dealers for money but otherwise doing fuck all. No that's not right, it's an epic about one of three divine witches who once ruled over the island and defended it from the Spanish conquest. No, it's a drama about a mangaka who leaps into the dark cycle of drugs and falls in love with a ghost. No wait, it's a detective story about a robot cop who tries to catch the mysterious and monstrous serial killer dubbed Snark with the help of a group of kids who call themselves the Slueth Brigade. No wait, it's about a hotel. Yes, that's it. It's about a hotel, located on a mysterious island in the south seas and it's pleasantly bizarre inhabitants, including but not limited to the aforementioned bunch.
Voynich Hotel is many things, but most accurately I would describe it as a perfectly mad slice of life in a trippy dark setting. While the central genre of this manga may be comedy, writing it off as just that wouldn't be doing it justice. Voynich Hotel is a razor-sharp piece of utterly insane dark comedy. Dark, occasionally gory, and frequently inappropriate comedy, and I love it. The storyline, although not exactly the focal point of the manga, is as risk-taking as it is stupid, but not in a bad way. It takes the unique approach of tossing a dozen different plot threads in a mixer and watch how they intersect, and it works perfectly. The characters are as unorthodox as they are ever-expanding (and contracting), and as previously stated, each as wonderfully bizarre as the other. Seriously, there is not a single unentertaining character in the lot, and that says a lot by itself. The unique art style accommodates the dark and quirky mood of it almost all too well, and the character designs are simple yet somehow extremely distinguishable.
Dowman Sayman is a talented genius and a retard at the same time, and when he turns his hand to comedy masterpieces are born. His dark, off-the-wall sense of humor never fails to amuse me, and reading Voynich Hotel has proved to be the most pure, unadulterated fun I've had with manga in years.
(Click to View) Unknown: Hi Programmargorp, how are you today?
Programmargorp: Decent I guess. Uni exams suck :(
Unknown: Ah, Uni. How long have you been visiting the AA section?
Programmargorp: Hmm, I don't remember exactly, but I remember lurking back in about 2012 when I started watching. Didn't really post anything till much later though.
Unknown: What do you think about the current AA section, and its members?
Programmargorp: Hmm. What I think is that there's too many threads that go something along the lines of "SAO was my fav anime, pls recommend me something betta", then we have the stereotypical response of "Shingeki no Kyojin" or "Mirai Nikki is teh best" or something. Kind of what's going on with the CoCH section, where people just post heaps of crap.
In terms of the members, there's always the AA Weekly crew (Esp Happeh) and a few others (which I can't think of any off the top of my head, sorry) that I see posting quite decent content or making decent discussion threads.
Unknown: I agree with that. There are a couple people that stay in the AA section, like Black Hole and Happeh, but most of the newer members make threads about stereotypical anime. Which anime that is currently airing are you watching? Do you enjoy it?
Programmargorp: I generally watch about half of what airs every season. For now, I'm watching (in alphabetical order) : Akuma no Riddle, Black Bullet, Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou, Captain Earth, Date a Live II, Gokukoku no Brynhildr, Hitsugi no Chaika, Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san, Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara, Kenzen Robo Daimidaler, M3, Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to, Mekakucity Actors, No Game No Life, Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin, Seikoku no Dragonar and Sidonia no Kishi.
I generally give these things the "three episode test", where you watch three episodes and you decide that it's crap, but watch it anyway xD.
As for the current season, my top would probably be Mekakucity Actors (Cause I'm a SHAFT fanboy) or Sidonia no Kishi. That said, Brynhildr, Kawaisou, Mahouka and NGNL are pretty good as well.
Also, Black Bullet gets honourable mention for having Tina.
Unknown: I do the exact same with the three episode test. I still watch most of the anime even if they're bad. Also, I'm more a Enju fan in Black Bullet. What do you think could be done to improve the AA section?
Programmargorp: I'm not sure if there's really anything that could be done. Most of the stuff I see is in relation to making another thread (in addition to the over 9000 that seem to already exist) about a certain anime (*Cough* SAO/SnK *Cough*) and the whole thing either spiraling out of control into a flamefest or completely derailing for no apparent reason.
I mean like, more people posting good threads would help, but I doubt there's really anything that can be done about this.
Although the AA Weekly, Lounge and the occasional discussion thread does help quite a bit.
Unknown: Is there anything you would like to see in the AA weekly, or anything you would like to change?
Programmargorp: Hmm, the biggest thing I'd like to see is having more than one writer for each review section. Maybe a two person review so people are offered different opinions on the same series? Makes it easier for people to collect different opinions from people who probably have different tastes in anime.
That said, I don't see anything that NEEDS changing, it's already structured pretty well.
Unknown: Thank you for the compliment. We're always looking for staff, if anyone is interested they can send Happeh a message.
What's your favorite anime?
Programmargorp: Hmm, that's a VERY hard one. If it HAD to be JUST one, I would pick Mawaru Penguindrum.
Unknown: Why?
Programmargorp: It's an amazing work of art. Taking a look on the surface, you end up with a cluster of crap that seemingly makes no sense. However once you think of it you realize the drawing style, animation and heck, even the colours that was chosen is all specially crafted with symbolism to create the ultimate masterpiece.
The amount of references that it makes to other things (for example, the red string of fate, subtle references to the bible, etc.) is just so vast.
It's really hard to explain how everything just kind of "blends" together to form this unless you watch it.
Unknown: Hmm. Interesting reply, I haven't watched the anime though.
Do you enjoy Vocaloids? Who is your favorite Vocaloid?
Programmargorp: I enjoy a wide range of music, Vocaloid included. Personally my favourite would be Gumi Natural, however IA, Yuzuki Yukari and Hatsune Miku aren't bad either.
Unknown: Ah, have you listened to any songs from the Kagerou Project?
Programmargorp: Only one so far, which is Kisaragi Attention.
Mekakucity Actors is awesome though.
Unknown: Ah. You should listen to Ayano's Theory of Happiness, although it should be called Ayano's Theory of Sadness. I never actually ask to the outside activities of AA members, but, what do you do on HF besides browsing and posting in the AA section?
Programmargorp: Besides browsing and posting in AA, I post quite a bit in the Computer, Overclocking, Customizing and Hardware section. Hardware is another passion of mine besides anime.
Unknown: Ah. I myself don't really know anything about hardware, I stick to Malware Removal, Python, Batch & Windows troubleshooting :). Thank you for the interview. Is there anything you want to say to our readers?
Programmargorp: Yep. To all you people out there that think Shingeki no Kyojin and SAO are the best anime ever, look around some more. To everyone else, have a great day :)

Note: This weeks loli of the week contains spoilers for Hidan no Aria.
Aria is a transfer student in Butei High School and she is one of the highest ranked students that is currently enrolled. She has long pink hair that reaches to her ankles tied into twintails. Yes, twintails. We all love twintails on our lolis. Aria is almost always seen with red horn shaped hairpins tying her hair together. She is mainly identified by her standard Tokyo Butei High School uniform, large scarlet red eyes, and black thigh high stockings.
Aria is a girl who likes to prove her worth by her actions and words. She is self-centered, rude, has an immature attitude, and blushes quickly. What's better than a tsundere loli that blushes often? Nothing. Aria is quick to jump to conclusions based on the situation in front of her, although this doesn't really happen in battle. She is a very loud person, and always expresses her opinions shamelessly. Aria is someone who's extremely innocent despite her personality, this was probably due to the shelter her father provided. Great, right? Innocence is the best trait for a loli to hold. Not only that, she loves sweets and cute things. Perfect.
Every week, you can vote on a poll for your next loli of the week. This way we can vote and admire them together as well as seeing who the most popular is between the AA! For next week, you can vote for either:
Yoshino "Hermit", from Date A Live.
Kotori "Commander, Efreet" Itsuka, Date A Live.
Unfortunately we do not have a winner for last weeks contest due to some issues. The sound clip provided, when saved, revealed the title of the Anime that members needed to guess, because of this we decided it would not be fair to announce a winner due to the small amount of entries contrasting with the amount of reports we had. Thank you to everyone who reported this. We are glad nobody abused this by not reporting it. The fact that our community can report errors like this instead of taking advantage of it is one of the many reasons we love you guys.
Again, it is unfortunate we could not declare a winner. However, we will continue as normal from this week. On another note however; in the last few weeks, we have had a very small amount of entries. If this is because of lack of interest, please do let us know. If the contest is too hard, time consuming, or anything of that nature, let us know so we can adjust it accordingly. Without feedback, we can only assume the contest has a lack of interest and it could mean that the contest would retire from the AA Weekly completely. Your feedback is important to us, do let us know!
This Week's Contest
For this week's AA Weekly contest, we will have a little trivia on our very own Vocaloids! Nothing too hard unless you don't listen to any Vocaloid music. If you guys are not familar with the NFN (Nostalgia For Nothingness series) then go get familar with it!
The question is, what is the name of the song that shares the same hook (in terms of instrumental) as Megpoid GUMI's 'Justice Breaker' song? You will only get one hint and that is that the song in question is using Hatsune Miku's vocals and is within the same album.
To submit your answer, please click HERE! You will also be required to leave a post on this thread and have a minimum of 25 posts in the AA section.
The winner will be able to choose from the following prizes:
4 months Osu Supporter
2800 Riot Points (EUW/NA)
CrunchyRoll (4 Months Anime Membership/2 Months All Access Membership)
L33T/UB3R Upgrade (HackForums)
CandySan's Discovery pack

Once again a great edition of AA Weekly! I didn't know about the MGS remake, but since MGS was basically my childhood of military games I'm keen.
MGS is basically my top game too - love the series and everything about it so I was pumped too. ^^

So Happeh, any plans on adapting any suggestions I gave in my interview?
I'd happily take any criticism on board, but yours is tough because it means we need three more eager volunteers and it's slim pickings. Other than this main team which formed around 4-5 weeks ago, no one else has really come to me to join up.
Good issue. I think this weeks contest is ideal for difficulty tbh. I think it should be something that is easy if looked for. Much like asking what logo was on Kota's shirt in Elfen Lied in that one episode. Not too hard but it does require you to look.

I never figured out last weeks...
What was it?
I think it was R-15. I literally just googled the lyrics and it came up.
@Happeh, I'll write the second part of a double review if Tails approves (And I've seen the series for review as well).
(Do note that I rate quite harshly).

PM Tails for permission, don't want to step on his toes, if he gives he the thumbs-up PM me your skype and I'll add you onto the staff chat / along with give you any extra information, such as deadlines etc.

I know the sounds of the kanji, and I tried to copy the small amount of them I could somewhat hear, but nothing was long/accurate enough to be valuable.
If you typed Mousou Bakuhatsu you'd get a CG set for a H-Game, anything else from the song and you'd get some results with R-15 in the name.

You know I said I was kind of interested?
Went on the first link, saw the tags, immediate NOPE.
And even going down the google results I saw R-15. I don't know anything about hastune miku other than the one or two songs I've played on osu! so I'm stepping out of this contest too.
OT: I've read a couple chapters of this manga before but it disappeared never to be found again.

Great issue as always, I really enjoyed reading through it.
And I can agree that I thought that Last weeks contest was a bit too hard for me, I don't know about the others though. But do you mind telling me which Anime it was from? I'm still wondering!
EDIT: Never mind just read the posts above me and found out. R-15? Yeah it's definitely this one.
I heard Mosou Bakahatsu multiple times and I searched it on google but found nothing of the sort similar to what I heard on the MP3. I only searched for Bakahatsu then though as I wasn't sure how I typed the other word. Didn't find anything special tho and I gave up after 45 minutes of searching xD. It wasn't really leading anywhere I was literally just browsing random anime openings hoping I got the right one.
